This role is based in our Outpatients Maternity Service, which include antenatal care and postnatal care in the community. You would have the opportunity to work across both North West Regional Hospital and Mersey Community hospital and our scenic outreach services. The North West Maternity Services (NWMS) is primarily located at the North West Regional Hospital, with satellite and community-based services delivered across Mersey Community Hospital (MCH), King Island District Hospital, Smithton District Hospital and West Coast District Hospital. Our service covers the full scope of maternity care including antenatal clinics, parenting education classes, pregnancy and postnatal assessment services, a 4-bed birthing suite, 20 bed inpatient ward, 8 bed special care nursery and extended care midwifery services for women when they discharge home after birth. We also offer women dedicated lactation services as well as connections through our allied health colleagues for social work, women’s health physio and diabetes services and perinatal mental health

The Hand and Wrist Fellows are part of the multidisciplinary Hand Team within a busy, dynamic and friendly department. We encourage a learning environment, with regular MDT and specialist Radiology meetings and support for taking the BSSH Hand Surgery Diploma. There are numerous BSSH approved tutors who can help and guide your preparation for the exam. We also encourage your involvement in audit and research and expect the successful candidates to present and publish such work carried out in the Unit.
This post does not have specific Royal College or Postgraduate approval; however prospective Deanery approval can be sought. This post would suit a senior Orthopaedic or Plastic Surgery trainee who is developing an interest in hand and wrist surgery and would like further experience in this specialist field. We welcome applicants from overseas.
The successful candidates will be exposed to a broad spectrum of elective hand and wrist surgery. There will also be exposure to a large volume of hand and wrist trauma including soft tissue reconstruction and complex wrist cases.
Main duties of the job
- Management of hand and wrist surgery cases in the outpatient setting (supervised)
- Management of hand and wrist surgery cases in the operating theatre (supervised)
- Presentation of cases at the weekly academic meeting
- Ward round review of in-patients and their on-going care
- Research involving hand and wrist surgery-based studies
- Teaching of junior staff
- Participation in daily morning trauma meetings

We are seeking a Consultant psychiatrist to join the Primary Care Liaison Service in Swindon. The post is an established post which has become vacant due to the previous incumbent moving to another service within AWP. The post involves working as the Primary Care Liaison consultant for a single CMHT catchment are in Swindon.

Clinical Leadership and Management:
- Provide senior psychiatric oversight and direct clinical care for children and adolescents under CAMHS services. Undertake comprehensive psychiatric assessments, diagnosis, formulation and treatment planning.
- Act as Responsible Clinician including Mental Health Act duties, CPA reviews, safeguarding processes and Mental Health Tribunals. Lead MDT meetings and ensure integrated multi-agency care across community and inpatient pathways.
Service Development and Clinical Governance:
- Contribute to CAMHS strategy, service redesign and pathway development in line with commissioning priorities and NICE guidance.

Teaching, Training and Research:

Join Emerald Place Clinic as a Consultant Child and Young People Psychiatrist and deliver, treat and empower young people to live a safe and independent life.
You will join our multidisciplinary team in a 12-bed General Adolescent Inpatient Unit. The unit provides care for young people aged 13 –18 experiencing acute mental health difficulties requiring inpatient treatment. You will play a key role in clinical leadership, risk management, and therapeutic planning, ensuring high-quality, trauma-informed care.
As a CYPMHS Consultant Psychiatrist, you will deliver an evidence-based and focused treatment plan to support the children and young people, and their families, as they progress through their care plans to understand eating behaviours and restore physical health.
You will work alongside the talented and experienced multidisciplinary team to create tailored treatment programmes to support the individual needs of each young person within a warm and nurturing environment. This will allow you to understand symptoms, patterns and origins of psychological distress.

As the Consultant Child and Young People Psychiatrist, your responsibilities will include:
Clinical Leadership and Management:
- Provide senior psychiatric oversight and direct clinical care for children and adolescents under CAMHS services. Undertake comprehensive psychiatric assessments, diagnosis, formulation and treatment planning.
- Act as Responsible Clinician including Mental Health Act duties, CPA reviews, safeguarding processes and Mental Health Tribunals. Lead MDT meetings and ensure integrated multi-agency care across community and inpatient pathways.
Service Development and Clinical Governance:
- Contribute to CAMHS strategy, service redesign and pathway development in line with commissioning priorities and NICE guidance.
- Participate actively in clinical governance, audit, incident review and risk management. Promote a culture of safety, learning and continuous improvement.
Teaching, Training and Research:
- Provide supervision, teaching and appraisal for trainees and MDT colleagues. Contribute to CPD programmes, clinical audit, research and quality improvement activity, sharing learning to inform best practice in child and adolescent mental health.
Professional and Legal Responsibilities:
- Fulfil Approved Clinician and Section 12 duties. Maintain accurate, timely clinical documentation and compliance with information governance, data protection and safeguarding requirements.

Job summary
We are seeking a consultant psychiatrist to join the Primary Care Liaison Service in Wiltshire. The post is an established post which has become vacant due to the previous incumbent moving to another service within AWP. The post involves working as the Primary Care Liaison consultant for a single CMHT catchment are in North, West and East Wiltshire. The post is supported by a Specialty Doctor.
The consultant (post holder) will provide clinical leadership in the team, help triage referrals, assess patients and make recommendations on care, provide advice to colleagues on assessment and management, liaising and working closely with the Intensive Service, Community Mental Health Team and Primary Care. There is a weekly interface meeting which is attended by PCLS, CMHTs, Primary Care Psychology and North Wiltshire Intensive Service. The consultant will work closely with the PCLS Manager to ensure that a safe, efficient and high quality service is delivered by the Team. The Consultant will also provide clinical supervision and management supervision for doctors reporting to them.
Main duties of the job
The Consultant will deliver advice to service users including undertaking assessments, (jointly where required), making diagnoses, and determining the most appropriate service provision to meet identified needs, including brief interventions where required.
The Consultant will supervise any medical staff providing input in to the service.
- To actively participate in clinical supervision.
Work collaboratively with the Recovery, Intensive and Inpatient Services to facilitate transitions through the care pathway according to the identified care cluster.
- The Consultant is expected to contribute to the development of services in line with best practice and nationally accredited standards.
- Responsible with the team members for the identification of appropriate care cluster and identifying service users who require access to specialist services
- Understand and participate in the maintenance, monitoring and evaluation of service specific performance indicators and targets.
The Consultant is expected to respond to all Advice and Guidance requests within 3-5 working days in accordance with the new PCLS Standard Operating Procedure (SOP). The requestors will primarily be GP, ARRS' Workers, RMN's based in GP surgeries, and at times, although scarce, other medical specialists based in Acute and Community Hospitals

This post will support our expanding Acute Medical Team on an AMU with 5 bays and 4 side rooms, and a purpose-built Same Day Emergency Care Unit with 8 trolleys, 4 beds and 2 dedicated treatment rooms.

Candidates with a background in Acute Medicine, or those dual trained in General Internal Medicine and a medical specialty would be welcome to apply. Specialty sessions are strongly encouraged and would be accommodated where possible. Our team is passionate about delivering safe, considerate care to a high standard. You will be working with an experienced team of nurses, advanced nurse practitioners and designated discharge support services.
We believe Acute Medicine is rewarding work that requires a balanced job plan allowing time for reflection and education, away from direct clinical care. This is essential for sustainability and to ensure we have the best diagnostic physicians working at the front door to ensure high quality patient care, junior doctor supervision and excellent service delivery.
