Job summary
Public Heath Wales Microbiology operates as a network of laboratories with Regional Laboratories across Wales.
The Band 4 Associate Practitioner post based in the Anaerobe Reference Unit at the University Hospital of Wales, Cardiff provides supervision and support to a team of laboratory support workers and undertakes reference laboratory procedures with supervision. The successful candidates will gain experience in a reference laboratory service using molecular and conventional microbiology techniques.
This post would suit candidates that have proven Microbiology laboratory experience and associated work based education and competency or a science graduate. We have well established career pathways and so this could be a brilliant launch pad for a professional career in medical microbiology.
Main duties of the job
Duties will include preparing, checking and processing of samples as well as data entry into the laboratory information system. The successful candidate will also supervise and undertake training/competency for the support worker team. The successful candidate will have good communication skills, technical ability and good hand-eye coordination, amongst others.
The ability to speak Welsh is desirable for this post; English and/or Welsh speakers are equally welcome to apply.

Main duties of the job
This is a patient-centred General Practitioner role, delivered from your nominated practice site and supported by a multidisciplinary team.
You will deliver comprehensive medical care to patients of all ages, focusing on prevention, diagnosis, treatment, and long-term condition management. You will work collaboratively with colleagues, including ARRS roles, to ensure high-quality, efficient, and safe patient care.

What you will bring to the roleThe post holder will work at a level equivalent to that of a ST1-2 trainee and should ideally have 6 months experience working within the UK.

The surgical service is based on Ward J98, a dedicated 14-bed gynaecological oncology facility in Bexley Wing. There is a state-of-the-art theatre suite that includes high-definition laparoscopic equipment with a Stryker Spy-Phi for ICG sentinel node detection and support from a dedicated anaesthetic and theatre team. There is also an established robotic programme utilising the Da Vinci system which is housed in a separate purpose-built theatre suite within the main hospital, where the team has access on a weekly basis. There is a HDU facility adjoining the theatre suite with the ITU located in a separate wing. Dedicated office space is provided within the Bexley Wing alongside a secretarial pool who help co-ordinate the service.
What you will bring to the roleThe appointee will be expected to hold the MRCOG or equivalent, have completed higher specialist training in gynaecological oncology or equivalent and have the required surgical skills to fulfil the role.
The appointee must be able to work as part of a team in line with the Calman-Hine recommendations for the multi-disciplinary approach to the management of malignancy, have good communication skills and form good working relationships with colleagues, non-medical staff and patients. The appointee should be well organised and skilled in good time management. They will have an understanding of current NHS management and Trusts and be aware of the responsibilities a consultant post brings.

We invite applications for two fixed-term locum consultant paediatric posts, both for a four-month period with the potential extension of one post. Both posts will be based at Birmingham Heartlands Hospital

The role includes a minimum requirement of 20% onsite working, although the expectation is that you will work onsite for 40% of the week to support service delivery, collaboration and team integration.
Main duties of the job
You will be working within a team of Bioinformaticians supporting diagnostics services at Great Ormond Street Hospital. The role will be a mix of acting as Duty Bioinformatician, development work and data analysis to support the rare disease diagnostic service. The Duty Bioinformatician ensures the smooth operational delivery of the service and answers daily issues raised by the scientific teams. Development work includes working on new and updating existing pipelines and database projects, as well as evaluations of applications and infrastructure planning. Supporting scientific and clinical teams is also an important part of the role, requiring strong data analysis and presentation skills.
It is likely that the majority of the role will be supporting the development of the service, but individuals will need to cover all aspects of the role. Having a broad set of programming skills and IT knowledge will be required. You will be responsible for ensuring that all work is completed to a high standard within defined timelines. You will be expected to work efficiently as part of the Bioinformatics Team and as a supportive team member.Compliance with UKAS ISO15189 standards is required, along with ensuring that the bioinformatics quality standards are maintained.

Applications are invited to apply for a Consultant in Anaesthetics (acute pain management/ Perioperative Medicine at Milton Keynes University Hospital NHS Foundation Trust.
This post is to add to the current cohort of anaesthetists at MKUH. Additional programmed activities may be available, but these are subject to annual discussion and agreement and do not form part of the underlying contractual agreement. Applicants are required to be on eligible for entry on Register or within six months of receipt of Certificate of Completion of Training (CCT).

Main duties of the job
Consultant Anaesthetist at Milton Keynes University Hospital NHS Foundation Trust
The consultant appointment is a new post within the Anaesthetic team at Milton Keynes University Hospital NHS Foundation Trust. The post holder will provide a general anaesthetic elective and emergency service for a busy DGH hospital.
The post is a 1 in 14 non-resident on-call and will attract a 3% on-call frequency supplement. The department works flexibility in terms of lists and working days, however this can be negotiated. Candidates with an interest in acute pain management or perioperative medicine would be welcomed.
