Job summary
An exciting opportunity has arisen for a Band 7 Highly Specialist Cardiac Physiologist - CRM (Cardiac Rhythm Management) to join the Cardiac Physiology team at Dorset County Hospital NHS Foundation Trust.
We are seeking an experienced and motivated Cardiac Physiologist with expertise in CRM to support the delivery and development of our cardiac device service. The successful candidate will play a key role in the follow-up, assessment, and optimisation of patients with implantable cardiac devices, including pacemakers, ICDs, and CRT devices, ensuring safe, effective, and patient-centred care.
As a highly specialist practitioner, you will work closely with consultant cardiologists and the wider multidisciplinary team, contributing to service improvement, quality assurance, and the delivery of high-quality diagnostic and therapeutic cardiac services. The role offers opportunities to develop advanced clinical skills while supporting a growing and innovative CRM service.
This is an excellent opportunity to join a supportive and forward-thinking department committed to delivering outstanding care and developing its workforce within a modern NHS environment.
Main duties of the job
As a Highly Specialist Cardiac Physiologist (CRM), you will provide expert assessment, follow-up, and optimisation of patients with cardiac implantable electronic devices, including pacemakers, ICDs, and CRT devices. You will independently manage complex device clinics, identify and respond to device-related issues and clinically significant arrhythmias, and work closely with consultant cardiologists and the wider multidisciplinary team to ensure safe, effective, and timely patient care.
The successful candidate will demonstrate excellent clinical, communication, and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work effectively both independently and as part of a multidisciplinary team. You will play a key role in service development, quality improvement, and clinical governance initiatives, helping to shape and enhance the future delivery of Cardiac Rhythm Management services. Responsibilities will also include supporting the training, supervision, and development of junior staff and trainees, contributing to a positive learning environment and maintaining high standards of patient-centred care across the service.
About us
At DCHFT, we pride ourselves on the care we provide for our patients, and on the culture, we are creating for our staff. We work hard to create a fair, inclusive environment for our staff.
Our Mission is to provide outstanding care for people in ways which matter to them, and our vision is Dorset County Hospital, working with our health and social care partners, will be at the heart of improving the well-being of our communities.
We are a Trust that celebrates diversity, and we are committed to creating an inclusive environment for all employees. We welcome applications from people in all under-represented groups.
We understand that AI can be a useful tool when completing your application. However, we are seeing an increasing over-reliance of AI tools, which can negatively affect your application as it reduces a candidate's individuality, and makes it difficult for us to gain a clear and authentic understanding of your experience, skills, and in turn your suitability for the role.
All submissions must be truthful and if you do use AI, it should only be used to enhance your application and not create your supporting statement in its entirety. Your supporting statement should be in your own words and must accurately reflect your personal experience and achievements. Where we have concerns that AI has been used to generate content that misrepresents your experience and suitability for the role, we may withdraw your application.
