Job summary
We are looking to recruit 2 tobacco dependency advisors for our maternity stop smoking service.
The individuals appointed to this role will be able to motivate, inspire and support those for who Tobacco dependency impacts their health and wellbeing, and that of their unborn baby and wider family.
This role will work within all areas of our maternity service, and will be supporting those who are pregnant and smoking to set a quit date and stop smoking. The person appointed will be able to identify tobacco users and will use a range of interventions to support someone to quit smoking.
Main duties of the job
The post holder will work with the Tobacco Dependence Specialist Midwife and other team members in providing individualised stop smoking support to women, pregnant people, and families in a flexibleand innovative way.
This post will contribute to tackling inequalities in health through promoting and supporting people to stop smoking. It focuses on engaging with people in communities and offering them practical support to change their behaviour to achieve their own choices and goals.
- Specifically, the post holder will: Act as a Smoke Free Pregnancy champion for maternity and provide intermediate stop smoking support throughout pregnancy, using the support of interventions such as CO monitoring and Nicotine Replacement therapy.
- Work independently and liaise with the specialist Tobacco Dependence Team to initiate and give stop smoking support.
- Assist with administration of the smoke free pregnancy data collection and collation whilst supporting midwives to achieve the universal COmonitoring in pregnancy targets.
- Seek out opportunities to develop and implement stop smoking services in hospital and/or community antenatal clinics in areas of higher smoking rates.
- Promote the general health and wellbeing of people who use the service through offering healthy lifestyle advice and support.
- Work with minimal indirect supervision operating within the assessed level of competence and being accountable for all aspects of own work.

Job responsibilities
- Identify and approach women who are eligible for intermediate intervention smoking cessation conversations in a variety of different settings including community locations. Follow women through their engagement with the service to the location of their care provision to integrate care.
- Develop a personalised care plan of tobacco dependence treatment to include behavioural support and NRT to support the woman / pregnant person to remain smokefree, including:
- 1:1 meetings / telephone appointments in keeping with recommended schedule
- Offering nicotine replacement therapy and ensuring continued supply
- Recording quit status and conducting CO testing.
- To support the Tobacco Dependency Service operationally in line with NICE and other local and national guidelines.
- Provide counselling regarding the use of Nicotine Replacement Therapy, pharmacotherapy, and behavioural change support.
- Manage incoming referrals to the in-house Maternity Tobacco Dependency Service
- Manage outgoing referral to Local Community Tobacco Dependency Providers after pregnancy.
- Communicate effectively with women/birthing people and their families when delivering tobacco dependency support in a non-judgemental and sensitive manner.
- Deliver Carbon Monoxide (CO) monitoring to a high standard and engage in the data collection and collation of CO rates in pregnancy and post-partum.
- Ensure that the relevant equipment is provided and maintained on an agreed schedule. Report any failings of equipment or other environmental factors to the specialist midwife.
- Ensure that smoking status and treatment plans are inputted correctly into the electronic patient record and this information is communicated to all appropriate services.

King's College Hospital's Department of Community Special Care Dentistry is split into 3 geographical Lots and covers the boroughs of Lambeth, Lewisham and Southwark, Merton Sutton and Croydon, Kingston and Richmond and Wandsworth. The main roles of our service are:
o The monitoring of the dental health of all age groups in the population.
o The provision of dental health education and preventive programmes.

You would be expected to:

Main duties of the job
- There is an exciting opportunity to join our JAG accredited Endoscopy unit. The endoscopy unit is a fast-paced area with 4 procedure rooms.We undertake diagnostic and therapeutic procedures (upper GI, lower GI, and respiratory procedures).
- You will be responsible for working in the Endoscopy Decontamination room. You will adhere to strict IPC and JAG guidelines whilst decontaminating endoscopes, using AEDs and drying cabinets. Social prescribing empowers people to take control of their health and wellbeing through referral to non-medical link workers who give time to focus on what matters to me. They take a holistic approach, connecting people to community groups and statutory services for practical and emotional support. Job summary
The Department of Laboratory Haematology are looking appoint an enthusiastic, motivated Laboratory Technical Officer (Band 3) to support the delivery of services within our exciting University Health Board. The Haematology and Medical Biochemistry & Toxicology Laboratories provide a diagnostic service for the City of Cardiff and the Vale of Glamorgan and provides tertiary services for the larger population of South Wales and beyond. The departments are seeking to increase the team of Laboratory Technical Officers to provide a 24/7 service mainly within University Hospital Llandough with additional duties at University Hospital of Wales and Velindre Hospital.
Initially, the service will support the Haematology Laboratory with further training being provided to include Medical Biochemistry in phase two.
Previous experience in the NHS is an advantage.

Main duties of the job
The post holder will provide diagnostic services across Cardiff and Vale. At University Hospital Llandough, this will beby utilising the automated analysers with results produced being authorised by Biomedical Scientist staff at University Hospital of Wales who would provide remote supervision. There will be a shift system in place to provide support during day shifts and for an overnight service at both UHW and UHL. The shift times will be both 07:30 to 20:00 and 19:30 to 08:00 as a roster. Rotation will also see shifts at Velindre Hospital to facilitate a 07:30 to 20:00 service.
As the service is constantly evolving and reacting to demands, shifts requirements may adapt accordingly.

Main duties of the job
We are looking to expand existing colleagues activity with a full time Consultant Oral Surgeon post in recognition of the complimentary benefits this will bring to the service.
Clinical work will include complex oral surgery, surgical support for orthodontic treatment and head and neck oncology patients. There is a long established working relationship with Worcestershire Community Dental Services and this will be further strengthened by this post.

Job summary
We are seeking to recruit a Locum Consultant Paediatrician at Epsom General Hospital to support the delivery of paediatric services across North Surrey. This fixed-term post has been created to provide cover following consultant retirements, with the intention of recruiting to a substantive position in the future.
The successful applicant will be primarily based at Epsom General Hospital, although cross-site working may be required to meet service needs. Epsom Hospital provides an integrated paediatric service, with acute and community teams working closely together to deliver high-quality, patient-centred care.
The post holder will contribute to the acute paediatric service, including participation in the Consultant of the Week rota, inpatient ward rounds and the consultant on-call rota. They will also undertake neurodevelopmental and general paediatric outpatient clinics, supporting children and young people with a broad range of health and developmental needs.
The successful applicant will join a supportive team of 16 Consultants and 2 Associate Specialists, supported by 9 middle-grade doctors and 8 junior doctors working across the Emergency Department, inpatient ward, day-case unit and Special Care Baby Unit. Main duties of the job
Responsible for a defined complex caseload within the team. Using specialist Mental Health knowledge and skills, carry out individual clinical assessment, plan and formulate a range of interventions and treatment options within care plans, implement and evaluate packages of care.
Assess and treat clients with complex, severe and enduring mental health problems who may be on a community section of the mental health act.

Job summary
We are inviting applications to fill our Senior Paediatric Orthopaedic Fellow vacancy at The Leeds Teaching Hospitals NHS Trust in Department of Trauma and Orthopaedic Surgery. The post is full time and based primarily at the Leeds General Infirmary and is a 12 month fellowship to start February 2028. The post is an excellent opportunity for candidates to pursue a career as a consultant in paediatric orthopaedics. Candidates must be fully registered with the General Medical Council and hold a license to practice by the intended start date.
Main duties of the job
The paediatric orthopaedic department is located in Leeds Childrens Hospital which is on site within Leeds General Infirmary. As well as offering a full range of paediatric services including PICU and childrens cardiac surgery. The post allows access to all the acute services within the countrys second busiest Level 1 Major Trauma Centre (over 1000 MTC admissions per year, including over 100 paediatric MTC admissions). There are eight paediatric theatres in the Childrens Hospital. The department is extremely busy seeing over 3000 referrals a year from the Yorkshire region as well as the paediatric trauma. At present there are currently seven paediatric orthopaedic consultants. There are daily paediatric only trauma clinics (Monday to Friday) as well as other elective clinics, including subspecialty clinics such as paediatric limb reconstruction, adolescent hip, neuromuscular and baby clinic for hip and foot deformities. The regional referral base is from the whole of the Yorkshire Region, a population of approximately 3.5 million. Leeds paediatric orthopaedic consultants also provide services in 5 of the regions district general hospitals, including Calderdale/ Huddersfield, Harrogate, Bradford, Airedale and Mid Yorkshire Hospital Trust.
