Job summary
We are looking for an experienced Medical PA to join our Neuro-Oncology team. You will be responsible for the provision of a comprehensive Medical PA Service, liaising with all colleagues within the multidisciplinary team to provide timely treatment to our Private and NHS patients within Neuro-Oncology at Chelsea.
Main duties of the job
The role of the Medical PA is key to the efficient management of the consultant practice. Patient access to healthcare professionals and subsequent treatment planning in the specialist hospital setting relies upon well co-ordinated organisational and administrative support. The role of the Medical PA. has been introduced at the Trust to strengthen the secretarial service, and this job description outlines the responsibilities that the post is likely to encompass. However, a number of the posts differ in their emphasis depending upon the size of the consultants' clinical practice and administrative team, and whether he/she also has an Administrative PA. and/or a Medical Secretary.
About us
The Royal Marsden NHS Foundation Trust is a world-leading cancer centre. Our role is to offer our patients the best cancer care available anywhere in the world, and to continue to make a global contribution to finding better ways of diagnosing and treating cancer. We employ over 4,500 staff in a diverse range of careers including nursing, medical, science, radiography, pharmacy, occupational therapy, finance and administrative services. We have two hospitals - one in Chelsea, London, and one in Sutton, Surrey - as well as a Medical Daycare Unit in Kingston Hospital.
At The Royal Marsden, we deal with cancer every day, so we understand how valuable life is. When people entrust their lives to us, they have the right to demand the very best. That's why the pursuit of excellence lies at the heart of everything we do.
At the heart of the hospital is our dedicated team. We offer a stimulating and dynamic working environment, a wide range of staff benefits, learning and development opportunities and clear career pathways. There are opportunities to work flexibly across a range of areas and specialities and we welcome flexible working requests from point of hire to support employees work life balance. We are looking for employees who aspire to excellence, share our values and can play a crucial role in our on-going achievements.

Job description
Job responsibilities
For further information please refer to the job description and personal specification
The difference between the role of a Medical P.A. and that of a Medical Secretary is the level of responsibility. To undertake a Medical P.A. position, the post holder will need to either:
1. Be the only secretarial member of staff working for the consultant, and hence will be required to cover a wide range of duties incorporating diary management and the co-ordination of all clinical / administrative / academic work.
Or:
2. Take the lead role in the organisation of a consultants clinical practice (including the line management of other secretarial staff) where the size of the consultants practice justifies more than one member of staff to support it.
The post holder will be responsible for the provision of a comprehensive Medical P.A. service. He/she will liaise with all colleagues within the multidisciplinary team, and with internal departments and external agencies to ensure the continuity of patient treatment.
This is a general job description, which may be developed over time to meet the specific needs of the Clinical Unit, in conjunction with the post holder.

Job summary
The role of Training Programme Director is to work with and support the Postgraduate Dean in leading the delivery of a wide range of functions within their specialty, aligned to the NHS England mandate.
Educator roles are usually recruited for a fixed 3 year term, maximum of 2 x 3 year tenure, however due to NHSE organisational change currently we are only able to offer contract till 31 March 2027. We are hoping this will be reviewed soon.
The salary contribution towards this role is in line with TPD sessional payments at £10,000 per session. Please make sure you discuss it with your employer before applying.
Main duties of the job
The role ofTraining Programme Directoris to work with and support the Postgraduate Dean in leading the delivery of a wide range of functionswithin their specialty, aligned to theNHSEngland mandate.
A speciality Training Programme Director (TPD) is a member of the Speciality Training Committee (STC) who is managerially responsible to the Postgraduate Dean for the delivery of training in that speciality according to the standards set by the GMC and the Royal College of Emergency Medicine. About us
NHS England has a wide range of statutory functions, responsibilities and regulatory powers. These are focused on supporting the wider NHS to deliver high quality care, as well as doing those things that are best done once for the whole NHS.
Our staff bring expertise across clinical, operational, commissioning, technology, data science, cyber security, software engineering, education, and commercial specialisms -- enabling us to design and deliver high-quality NHS services.
In March 2025, the Government announced that NHS England and the Department of Health and Social Care will increasingly merge functions, ultimately leading to NHS England being fully integrated into the department.
If you currently work within the NHS and if successful at interview, we will initiate an Inter Authority Transfer (IAT) via the Electronic Staff Record (ESR).This retrieves key data from your current or previous NHS employer to support onboarding, including competency status, Continuous Service Dates (CSD), and annual leave entitlement. You may opt out at any stage of the process.
Colleagues with a contractual office base are expected to spend, on average, at least 40% of their time working in our offices.
We cannot offer visa sponsorship for any vacancies.

We expect all staff to demonstrate compassion not only through their words, but through their actions: by listening attentively, communicating clearly and kindly, and recognising individual needs, feelings, and circumstances of those in our care.
Effective communication is central to safe and high-quality healthcare. We value colleagues who take the time to understand others, explain information in a meaningful way, and respond to concerns with patience and understanding.
By joining our team, you are committing to uphold these values -- ensuring that every patient feels heard, respected, and valued, and that compassion is embedded in every interaction, every day.
