Job Summary We have an exciting opportunity for a motivated and enthusiastic Associate Practitioner to join the Invasive Cardiology team within the Clinical Physiology Department at Leeds Teaching Hospitals NHS Trust. Working within one of the largest cardiac departments in the UK, you will support Healthcare Scientists and the wider multidisciplinary team in delivering specialist invasive cardiology services to patients undergoing electrophysiology (EP) and cryo-ablation procedures.

This role offers the opportunity to develop specialist skills in invasive cardiology, including supporting EP and cryo-ablation procedures, assisting with implantable loop recorder (ILR) implant and explant procedures, and analysing and reporting ILR patient downloads. We are looking for an individual who is motivated to learn, committed to providing excellent patient care, and capable of developing the skills and competencies required to become a valued member of our Clinical Physiology team. There will also be opportunities to gain experience across other areas of cardiology, including exercise testing services.

The Clinical Physiology Department is part of a large, friendly and highly skilled Cardio-Respiratory service that provides a comprehensive range of diagnostic and specialist cardiology services. You will join a supportive team of Healthcare Scientists, Associate Practitioners and support staff who are passionate about delivering high-quality patient care and developing the future workforce.

Criteria:

• Experience working within a healthcare environment, ideally within cardiology or physiological sciences.

The Pancreas CNS team are involved in supporting patients diagnosed with a HPB malignancy. We work across several different treatment modalities such as surgical, chemotherapy and radiotherapy.

Building on the work of the 4 previous Integrated Stroke Delivery Networks (West Yorkshire and Harrogate, South Yorkshire, Humber and North Yorkshire and North East and North Cumbria) the postholder will work collaboratively with stroke professionals to bring together health and care services across the entire stroke pathway, from prevention to rehabilitation. The overarching aim of this project is to improve the quality of stroke care for better clinical outcomes, patient experience and patient safety, working with others across the region to ensure stroke remains a priority and to support delivery against the impending Modern Service Framework for Cardiovascular Disease.

The successful candidate will be responsible for the delivery of key pieces of work that will be agreed with the regional stroke working group to report progress against their deliverables. Using the National Stroke Service Model, Integrated Community Stroke Service Model and the impending Modern Service Framework for Cardiovascular Disease as drivers; alongside the closure reports for the previous ISDNs the Collaborative will identify new opportunities for improvement concurrently with established pieces of work. The successful candidate will need to be comfortable managing multiple, competing priorities, working to tight deadlines, maintaining a high level of accountability and self-motivation to drive the workplan.

The EDS provides a continuous service to our users throughout the Trust 7 days a week.

The post holder will work 37.5hrs per week.

Staff are required to work Bank Holidays on a rotational basis which may include weekends cross sites if required.

Shift 1.07.00-15.00 Monday - Friday

Shift 2.10.00-18.00 /18.30 Monday - Friday (Shift patterns are currently under review and may change to meet the future needs of the service).

Why you should join our Team

The department serves a population of approximately 5.5 million in Yorkshire, Humberside and Northern Trent. Services include all aspects of specialist tertiary care of cardiac patients with the exception of transplantation. The annual workload of the department includes over 10,000 outpatient consultations and approximately 400 congenital cardiac operations. The congenital cardiac catheter programme performs around 650 procedures per annum (approximately 350 paediatric and 300 adult, around 70% intervention and 30% diagnostic). Hybrid, EP and pacing work takes the invasive cardiology programme to around 750 procedures per annum. There are 5 dedicated invasive cardiology specialist nurses who play a key role in the day-to-day running of the service.

The congenital cardiology department has office space and outpatient clinics situated in the Jubilee Building at the Leeds General Infirmary. The inpatient department within Leeds Children’s Hospital (based in the Clarendon wing) includes a dedicated 16 bed paediatric cardiac ward, (of which 6 beds are designated as high dependency) and a paediatric intensive care unit with 14 beds. There is a hybrid catheter lab specifically for the care of congenital cardiac patients. There are obstetric, neonatal and all sub-specialty paediatric services on site.

The department currently comprises 14 consultant paediatric cardiologists and 5 consultant adult congenital cardiologists. There are 4 congenital cardiac surgeons who work closely with the cardiologists.

Must be able to demonstrate a high level of clinical experience and competence in Paediatric Cardiology with experience in congenital cardiac catheterisation and intervention.

Are you passionate about clinical photography and eager to make a difference? We provide high-quality photographic, video, ophthalmic imaging, and design services to all clinical specialties within the Trust. We are looking for a full-time Clinical Photographer, either qualified or trainee, to join our team.

Job Purpose:

Provide clinical photography and ophthalmic imaging for diagnostics. Deliver scientific and non-clinical photography services, including video. Support patient care by creating high-quality visual records for diagnosis, treatment planning, and monitoring. Contribute to patient information, medical education and research through the production of detailed and accurate images and video. Undertake public relations and communication assignments, capturing images and video that highlight the Trust's work and achievements.

Applying as a Trainee Clinical Photographer you will need:

• Minimum HND/degree or equivalent qualification in a relevant media field.
• Eligibility to study for the Graduate/Postgraduate Certificate in Clinical Photography.

Applying as a Qualified Clinical Photographer you will need:

• Minimum HND/degree or equivalent qualification in a relevant media field.
• Certificate in Clinical Photography (Graduate or Postgraduate) or BSc in Clinical Photography/Medical Illustration Photography.

This is more than a Band 6 role. It's an opportunity to develop towards a future Band 7 Clinical Lead position within a well-established and supportive service.

You'll gain experience managing complex acute inpatient caseloads, contribute to service development and quality improvement initiatives, and work alongside experienced Band 7 Clinical Leads and senior clinicians. We are committed to developing our workforce and have created a structured progression pathway that supports clinicians to build the competencies required for Band 7 practice.

Whether your passion lies in dysphagia, complex communication, education, quality improvement or leadership, this role offers a unique opportunity to develop your expertise whilst making a real difference to patient care.

We're looking for a motivated and enthusiastic Speech and Language Therapist who is passionate about delivering high-quality care for adults with communication and swallowing difficulties.

You will have experience working with adults in healthcare settings and be confident in managing communication and dysphagia presentations. You will enjoy working collaboratively within multidisciplinary teams and be committed to evidence-based practice and continuous professional development.

Most importantly, you'll be keen to develop your specialist clinical skills and embrace opportunities to grow into future leadership responsibilities through our Band 6 to Band 7 development pathway.

You will provide specialist assessment, diagnosis and management of adults with communication and swallowing difficulties across acute inpatient services. Working as an autonomous practitioner within multidisciplinary teams, you will support the delivery of safe, effective and patient-centred care for individuals with complex needs.

You will have opportunities to develop advanced clinical skills through working alongside experienced clinicians, participating in audit and quality improvement initiatives, contributing to education and training activities, and supporting service development projects. The post includes a structured development programme to support progression towards Band 7 competencies, enabling you to build expertise in leadership, governance and service improvement alongside your clinical practice.
