Job summary
Springwood Surgery are looking for a Practice Pharmacy Technician to help us enhance the care of our patients. We are now wanting to consolidate that expertise in-house and expand the reach of medicines specialist into the care of our patients. We are looking for an enthusiastic, forward-thinking Pharmacy Technician who will help us to realise our vision of high-quality evidence-based prescribing for all of our patients.
We are simultaneously recruiting for a Clinical Pharmacist and our vision is for the two roles to support each other and provide a comprehensive in-house medicines service.
Please note that depending on if we receive a high number of applicants, this job advert may shut earlier than 27/10/2026.
To arrange an informal discussion or visit the Practice, please contact Danielle Adams (Practice Manager)
Main duties of the job
To be professionally and legally responsible and accountable for all aspects of own work.
To ensure compliance with appropriate medicines legislation.
To provide a safe and specialist clinical pharmacy service to patients, working as part of a multi-disciplinary team.
About us
Springwood Surgery is a thriving semi-rural practice providing care to approximately 7,500 patients in the beautiful market town of Guisborough on the edge of the North York Moors. We have a friendly and supportive team of six GP Partners, two salaried GPs, a highly-trained and skilled nursing team, excellent Practice Manager and effective administrative team.
We are supported by a wider multidisciplinary team provided by our PCN - including a Musculoskeletal Advanced Practitioner, Mental Health Practitioner Service, Care Coordinators, and Social Prescribing Link Workers.
We are an established and active training practice. Three of our GPs are GP Trainers, two of these are Training Programme Directors for the Durham & Tees Valley GP Training Programme. We provide placements for GP Specialty Trainees, Foundation Doctors and Undergraduate Medical Education (Years 3,4 and 5 from Newcastle University). One of our GPs is a Medical tutor for CPPE.

Nurse (Paediatric Intensive Care / PICU)
Birmingham Women's and Children's NHS Foundation Trust View all jobs
Posted 1 month(s) ago
Reference: 2371896
Job summary
We are looking for a newly qualified or current Band 5 children's nurse to join our Paediatric Intensive Care Unit (PICU) at Birmingham Children's Hospital.
As the Lead Centre for Paediatric Intensive Care services for the West Midlands, we care for critically ill children from a wide range of specialties including cardiac, extracorporeal membrane oxygenation (ECMO), liver, medical, oncology, renal, surgery, neuro and trauma. This provides a unique opportunity to develop advanced clinical skills within a specialist paediatric critical care environment.
We are a 31 bedded unit with a friendly, dedicated and experienced team delivering paediatric and cardiac intensive care (PIC/CIC). Although we are a large department, we work within three smaller sub teams. This approach helps build strong team relationships, encourages collaboration and ensures staff feel supported in their day-to-day practice.
Working alongside experienced nurses and a wider multi-disciplinary team (MDT), you will deliver high quality Level 3 intensive nursing care to critically ill children. The majority of our patients are cared for on a 1:1 nurse to patient ratio, enabling you to provide focused, individualised care whilst working closely with children and their families during some of the most important moments of their lives.
Main duties of the job
What you'll bring:
A newly qualified or current Band 5 children's nurse.
A commitment to delivering high quality, compassionate nursing care for children and their families.
Excellent communication and active listening skills, along with the ability to build supportive relationships with children, families and colleagues.
A passion for family integrated care, working in partnership with parents and carers throughout the child's journey.
Empathy, adaptability and resilience when supporting families through challenging situations.
Critical care placement experience is not essential. We offer a comprehensive 12-month educational foundation programme which runs alongside the Trust's Newly Qualified Nurse (NQN) preceptorship programme. This structured support will help you build confidence, develop your clinical skills and transition into paediatric critical care nursing.
What we'll offer you:
We recognise that working in paediatric intensive care can be both rewarding and emotionally demanding. Your wellbeing is important to us and we are committed to supporting our staff. Within PICU we had a dedicated department Psychologist and wellbeing resources to ensure you feel supported in your role.
PICU is a 24 hour intensive care service and our nursing teams work a range of shifts including days, nights, weekends and bank holidays. We can support contracts of 30 hours per week, which is a requirement during the foundation programme year for newly qualified nurses.

Are you ready to transform MSK care at the frontline of Primary Care?
We are delighted to be recruiting an Advanced Physiotherapy Practitioner (APP) to join our established, forward-thinking team on a part-time basis (22.5 hours).
In this onsite role, you will work within GP practices as part of a multidisciplinary team, providing expert assessment, diagnosis, and management of musculoskeletal (MSK) conditions at the first point of contact.
