Job summary
Patient services role will support the practice in delivering excellent patient care. They will assist and direct patient in accessing the appropriate service or healthcare professional in a courteous, efficient and effective way.
You will be joining our Patient Services Team where we are committed to delivering high quality patient care. Our main focus is to meet the individual needs of each and every Patient. In this role you will make patient interactions with the practice more streamlined and efficient.

Main duties of the job
Our successful candidate will have a busy and varied role which will include providing care navigation and signposting to patients. You will deal with general enquiries, explain procedures and make new and follow up appointments. You will perform a range of administrative duties to support patient care and supporting our frontline reception services during peak calling times.
You will have excellent communication skills and the confidence to work in a busy and demanding environment.
Experience of general administration processes and record keeping will be helpful and you must be computer literate with the ability to learn our IT systems quickly.
Above all, you will be committed to delivering high quality patient care.

We are a large rural practice with over 35,000 patients. As a single-practice Primary Care Network, we have a wonderful opportunity to transform care for our patients. We operate from 6 locations across Holderness and you must also be willing to travel between sites as necessary. Our hard-working and dedicated team includes 23 GPs, an extensive multi-disciplinary team of healthcare professionals and a great patient services and administration team.

Receive, assist and direct patients in accessing the appropriate service or healthcare professional in a courteous, efficient and effective way.
Provide general assistance to the practice team and project a positive and friendly image to patients and other visitors, either in person or via the telephone.
Job duties/responsibilities:
Ensure an effective and efficient patient service is provided to patients and any other visitors to the practice
Provide care navigation/signposting of patients
Deal with all general enquiries, explain procedures and make new and follow-up appointments.
Using your own judgment and communication skills, ensure that patients with no prior appointment but who need urgent consultation are seen in a logical and non-disruptive manner.
Explain practice arrangements and formal requirements to new patients and those seeking temporary cover, and ensure procedures are completed.
Liaise with other clinical staff including District Nurses, Health Visitors etc.,
Receive and make telephone calls as required. Divert calls and take messages, ensuring accuracy of detail and prompt appropriate delivery.
Enter requests for home visits into clinical system, ensuring to carefully record all relevant details and referring to duty doctor where necessary.
Advise patients of relevant charges for private (non-General Medical Services) services.
Retrieve and re-file records as required, ensuring strict alphabetical order is adhered to.
Ensure the kitchen is kept clean and tidy and air and tidy the waiting room in turn with other staff.
Premises:
Open up premises at the start of the day when first to arrive, de-activate alarm and make all necessary preparations to receive patients.
When last to leave at the end of the day, ensure that the building is totally secured, internal lights are off and the alarm activated.
Ensure efficient running of appointment system and monitor flow of patients into Treatment/Consulting rooms.
To work in accordance of written protocols
Fax and photocopy as requested
Be able to cover reception positions as necessary
Process patients changes of address computer data and medical records (have knowledge of practice area)
Have working knowledge of telephone/on call system, during and after hours
Ensure building security have thorough knowledge of doors/windows/alarm and report any concerns
Carry out any other tasks allocated by managers

In the course of seeking treatment, patients entrust us with, or allow us to gather, sensitive information in relation to their health and other matters. They do so in confidence and have the right to expect that staff will respect their privacy and act appropriately
In the performance of the duties outlined in this job description, the post-holder may have access to confidential information relating to patients and their carers, practice staff and other healthcare workers. They may also have access to information relating to the practice as a business organisation. All such information from any source is to be regarded as strictly confidential
Information relating to patients, carers, colleagues, other healthcare workers or the business of the practice may only be divulged to authorised persons in accordance with the practice policies and procedures relating to confidentiality and the protection of personal and sensitive data
Health & safety
The post-holder will assist in promoting and maintaining their own and others health, safety and security as defined in the practice health & safety policy, the practice health & safety manual, and the practice infection control policy and published procedures. This will include:
Using personal security systems within the workplace according to practice guidelines
Identifying the risks involved in work activities and undertaking such activities in a way that manages those risks
Making effective use of training to update knowledge and skills
Using appropriate infection control procedures, maintaining work areas in a tidy and safe way and free from hazards
Actively reporting of health and safety hazards and infection hazards immediately when recognised
Keeping own work areas and general/patient areas generally clean, assisting in the maintenance of general standards of cleanliness consistent with the scope of the job holders role
Undertaking periodic infection control training (minimum annually)

We are nationally recognised for our commitment to delivering high quality, compassionate care, and are currently seeking Registered Nurses to join our established and friendly renal dialysis team.
The University Hospitals of Derby and Burton operate dialysis services across three sites delivering both acute and chronic haemodialysis. As we continue to expand our dialysis provision, we are pleased to offer this exciting opportunity for new team members to join us at our SJCH Dialysis Unit.
Previous experience in renal dialysis is not required, as comprehensive support is provided for all staff. Our Practice Development Facilitator ensures that every new starter receives guidance and mentoring throughout their induction. In addition, a carefully designed competency package is available to help new team members develop the skills for the role. Training will take place on the SJCH site.
To succeed in this position, you must demonstrate adaptability in the working environment and be willing to further your clinical skills. The Renal Dialysis Units are operational from Monday to Saturday, offering dialysis sessions to patients in the morning, afternoon and evening. Flexibility is essential, as you will be expected to cover shifts across these hours, working three days per week. Opportunities for cross-site working are also supported, providing further avenues for professional development.

Main duties of the job
As a First Contact Physiotherapist, you will work onsite within GP practices as part of a dynamic multidisciplinary team. You will assess, diagnose, and manage MSK patients at the first point of contact, working with full autonomy and strong clinical support.
Please note that this is not a hybrid or remote role. You will be embedded within your allocated practices, collaborating closely with GPs, reception teams, nurses, and wider MDT colleagues to deliver integrated, personalised patient care.

The Domestic & Linen Services Supervisor will support the Domestic & Linen Services Manager in ensuring that the Domestic & Linen Service delivery to County Durham and Darlington Foundation Trust (CDDFT) are maintained within contractual parameters and Synchronicity Care Limited (SCL) budget as set.
They will also support, monitor and assist in developing the service to the satisfaction of the SCL, CDDFT and other PFI Partners, ensuring standards set by the company are followed to ensure the consistent delivery of service through adhering to the contract specification and establishing good working relationships with stakeholders
Main duties of the job
The post holder will effectively support and supervise the domestic & linen services team using available resources, whilst maintaining and continuing to improve the quality of the service. This includes monitoring the levels of cleanliness within the hospital environment, ensuring adherence to National Standards of Healthcare Cleanliness 2025, all relevant method statements, policies and procedures, ensuring corrective measures are taken within agreed rectification times.
The post holder will be expected to co-ordinate and effectively communicate with other departments within the hospital environment and across the Trust as appropriate.

Job summary
The appointment is for a 12-month fixed term 10 PA Consultant Gynaecologist. The post is based at St Michael's Hospital, with the job plan split between St Michael's Hospital and Weston General Hospital.
You will join a cohesive and friendly team of 40 Consultants and Associate Specialists in obstetrics and gynaecology. The appointee will be an experienced gynaecologist who has completed the RCOG benign gynae ATSM. Additional ATSMs complementary to the existing department would be welcomed (such as EPC, menopause, PAG, vulval, fibroid service or endometriosis).
Main duties of the job
The post includes 2WW clinics and general gynaecology clinics, hysteroscopy and/or myosure clinics, and there is provision to support a clinic that supports the candidate's special interests.
The post-holder will provide elective inpatient and outpatient care to patients referred with benign gynaecological conditions, including clinics and operating. The post holder will be expected to participate in emergency 'hot week' cover, and there is a non-resident (1 in 14) on call covering gynaecology only. There is no obstetrics in this job.

We have an exciting opportunity for an Operational Support Officer to join the Surgical Division.
You will need to be highly motivated with a high level of professionalism, excellent communication skills and the ability to work in a team. You will need to be adaptable and flexible to meet the demands of the services.
The role is imperative to support the smooth running of the Directorate services and will mainly compromise of creating and monitoring service rotas. The post holder will need the ability to problem solve and know when to escalate any issues that may arise. The role will be based in one of the Directorates within the Surgical Division, with requirement to support other teams as service pressures and capacity allow.
Main duties of the job
Administrative Responsibilities
- Undertake routine monitoring of EPR and RTT; data quality reports system to ensure waiting times; booking targets are met and that patients will not breach the in-patient and outpatient targets and escalate areas of concern to the Directorate support team.
- Monitor Patient Tracker List investigate outliers and escalate issues as appropriate.
- Input and produce data in support of the administration management of the Directorate e.g.: ESR; EPR; rotas; trackers; Datix, Integra; Shared drives
- Support project work as delegated e.g.: coordinating authorised waiting list initiatives; EPR training
- Undertake administrative tasks and storage in support of the Directorate Team e.g.; arrange meetings; take minutes; typing of policy / SOP; completion of action logs; manage diaries
- Develop and maintain robust Directorate and Speciality systems that capture and enable timely access and accurate monitoring of relevant information.

The Psychology Adult Mental Health Service is very pleased to announce an exciting opportunity for a Band 5 Assistant Psychologist position to work in an adult acute inpatient setting, on a permanent basis. The post is based on Morlais Ward, in Glangwili Hospital, Carmarthen and is 0.6 wte (22.5 hours per week).
The successful applicant would be working as part of a welcoming Adult Mental Health Psychology department, which provides professional support and encourages future career development. The post-holder will be supervised by a Principal Clinical Psychologist and work alongside other Assistant Psychologists based across the three counties. The post-holder will need to be able to demonstrate innovation, commitment and enthusiasm for improving psychological needs of people with mental health conditions. They must be able to work both independently and as a member of a team to support the existing service.

Main duties of the job
Under the supervision of the Principal Clinical Psychologist (Acute Psychology Service Lead) the post-holder will deliver standardised low-level psychological interventions to inpatients on the acute psychiatric wards in both individual and group formats.
To assist in the administration of questionnaires and the collation of data (psychometrics).
To undertake protocol-based psychological assessment of clients using psychological tests, including neuropsychological assessments, self-report measures, rating scales, direct and indirect structured observations and semi-structured interviews with clients, family members and others involved in the client's care.
To assist in the formulation and delivery of care and treatment plans involving the psychological treatment and/or management of a client's problem, under the supervision of a qualified professional psychologist within settings appropriate to the service.
The role requires development of clinical reports and correspondence to referrers, all which are reviewed by the supervisor.
There are opportunities for the post-holder to develop other psychological competencies within this role such as service evaluation and service development.

Job summary

JOB TITLE: SALARIED GENERAL PRACTITIONER
REPORTS TO: THE PARTNERS (Clinically)
THE PRACTICE MANAGER
HOURS: Up to 8 sessions per week
Job summary:
The post-holder will manage a caseload and deal with a wide range of health needs in a primary care setting, ensuring the highest standards of care for all registered and temporary patients.
Clinical responsibilities:
- In accordance with the practice timetable, as agreed, the post-holder will make themselves available to undertake a variety of duties, including surgery consultations, telephone consultations and queries, visiting patients at home, checking and signing repeat prescriptions and dealing with queries, paperwork and correspondence in a timely fashion
- Making professional, autonomous decisions in relation to presenting problems, whether self-referred or referred from other health care workers within the organisation
- Assessing the health care needs of patients with undifferentiated and undiagnosed problems
- Screening patients for disease risk factors and early signs of illness
- Developing care plans for health in consultation with patients and in line with current practice disease management protocols
- Providing counselling and health education
- Admitting or discharging patients to and from the caseload and referring to other care providers as appropriate
- Recording clear and contemporaneous consultation notes to agreed standards
- Collecting data for audit purposes
- Compiling and issuing computer-generated acute and repeat prescriptions (avoiding hand-written prescriptions whenever possible)
- Prescribing in accordance with the practice prescribing formulary
- In general, the post-holder will be expected to undertake all the normal duties and responsibilities associated with a GP working within primary care.

Health & safety:
The post-holder will implement and lead on a full range of promotion and management of their own and others health and safety and infection control as defined in the practice health & safety policy, the practice health & safety manual, and the practice infection control policy and published procedures. This will include (but will not be limited to):
- Using personal security systems within the workplace according to practice guidelines
- Awareness of national standards of infection control and cleanliness and regulatory / contractual / professional requirements, and good practice guidelines
- Providing advice on the correct and safe management of the specimens process, including collection, labelling, handling, use of correct and clean containers, storage and transport arrangements
- Correct personal use of Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) and ensuring correct use of PPE by others, advising on appropriate circumstances for use by clinicians, staff and patients.
- Management of the full range of infection control procedures in both routine and extraordinary circumstances (e.g. pandemic or individual infectious circumstances)
- Hand hygiene standards for self and others
- Managing directly all incidents of accidental exposure
- Management and advice relating to infection control and clinically based patient care protocols, and implementation of those protocols across the practice
- Active observation of current working practices across the practice in relation to infection control, cleanliness and related activities, ensuring that procedures are followed and weaknesses/training needs are identified, escalating issues as appropriate to the responsible person
- Identifying the risks involved in work activities and undertaking such activities in a way that manages those risks across clinical and patient process
- Making effective use of training to update knowledge and skills, and initiate and manage the training of others across the full range of infection control and patient processes
- Monitoring practice facilities and equipment in relation to infection control, ensuring that proper use is made of hand-cleansing facilities, wipes etc., and that these are sufficient to ensure a good clinical working environment. Lack of facilities to be escalated as appropriate to the responsible manager
- Safe management of sharps use, storage and disposal
- Maintenance of own clean working environment
- Using appropriate infection control procedures, maintaining work areas in a tidy, clean and sterile and safe way, free from hazards. Initiation of remedial / corrective action where needed or escalation to responsible management
- Actively identifying, reporting, and correcting health and safety hazards and infection hazards immediately when recognised
- Keeping own work areas and general/patient areas generally clean, sterile, identifying issues and hazards/risks in relation to other work areas within the business, and assuming responsibility in the maintenance of general standards of cleanliness across the business in consultation (where appropriate) with responsible managers
- Undertaking periodic infection control training (minimum twice annually)
- Correct waste and instrument management, including handling, segregation, and container use
- Maintenance of sterile environments
- Demonstrate due regard for safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children.
