We are seeking dynamic individuals who are passionate about patient care to join our Acute Trauma and Orthopaedic Ward. On Holly Ward, we provide pre and post operative care for patients requiring orthopaedic surgery. Patients are often frail/elderly and require assistance with all aspects of personal care and rehabilitation.
As a Healthcare Support Worker, you will be expected to work a combination of shifts including nights, weekends and Bank Holidays:
- Early - 07:15-15:15
- Late - 12:15 - 20:15
- Long Day - 07:15 - 20:15
- Night - 20:00 - 07:30
Interviews for this position will be held in person ONLY. Remote interviews will not be available.
Main duties of the job
The job description outlines the primary role and responsibilities of a Senior Health Care Support Worker. It is not exhaustive and may be amended from time to time as the needs of the service change. As this contains core functions of the role, it is important to note that some service areas may have additional skill requirements which are subject to competency based assessments.
There is an expectation for post holders to be flexible in order to provide cover to other clinical areas where there is an increase in service demand.
Conduct and behaviour

Job summary
An exciting opportunity has arisen for a Clinical Educator within our Theatres team. The role will require the post holder to work with all nursing staff and operating department practitioners, registered and non-registered, working across a wider area in the theatre and PACU environment; external partners and networks with a lead focus on clinical development of theatre nursing practice including key skills for both registered and unregistered staff.The post holder will be required to plan and organise the training equipment and book training dates and venues as appropriate in collaboration with colleagues within the wider teams.
Main duties of the job
- To develop and deliver core and additional clinical skills and training programmes across all Theatre and PACU Care Group Surgery settings, demonstrating a sound teaching approach utilising mixed media, simulation, and creating a positive learning environment that supports the training needs of the service and organisation.
- Demonstrate excellent communication skills to deliver effective teaching and can undertake assessment of knowledge and competence. The post holder will also be required to devise appropriate strategies to enable and ensure a positive and safe learning environment and experience.
- Collect, evaluate, and analyse data, and make judgements on the clinical implications of the evidence and writing relevant reports and presentations to initiate change and service improvement.
- To support investigations following an adverse incident, challenging appropriately when required, and input into the follow-up work, clinical supervision/mentoring or organisational change.
- To work across organisational and professional boundaries and develop multi professional clinically based teaching and assessment processes.
- Responsible and accountable for the key functions of clinical skills development, delivery and audit; designing and maintaining physical and virtual provision of clinical skills training; and supporting the wider clinical skills education agenda across the service and organisation.
- Develop learning packages and resources to support clinical skills acquisition.

We are looking for ODP's or Anaesthetic Nurses to join us in Scarborough and Bridlington. We run eight theatres over two sites, covering many specialities including; general surgery, urology, gynaecology, ENT, Max Fax, ophthalmology, obstetrics, elective orthopaedics and trauma.
We have established day surgery wards on both sites and an excellent elective orthopaedic ward, ensuring our same day discharge rates for joint replacements are some of the best in the country. Our Bridlington surgical hub provides an excellent elective orthopaedic pathway, and the same day discharge rates for joint replacement are one of the best in the country.
At Scarborough we cover a 24 hour emergency theatre and are part of the cardiac arrest, trauma teams and paediatric emergency teams meaning no two days are the same.
Day to day duties will include using acquired anaesthetic skills to support the anaesthetic needs of the peri-operative patient, as well as supporting the emergency response teams with the airway needs of deteriorating patients. Evidence of training in such roles is essential for any candidates wishing to apply.
We are looking for ODP Practitioners or Registered Nurses with an anaesthetic qualification and three years of experience in the peri-operative setting.

Main duties of the job
Providing comprehensive clinical assessment, diagnosis, and treatment for patients of all ages attending the Primary Care Centre for urgent care outside normal surgery hours. Seeing patients booked in via NHS 111, Clinical Assessment Service (CAS), Out-of Hours triage (OOH) and Emergency Department streaming, working through a base-clinic caseload at approximately 34 patients per hour. Conducting face-to-face consultations from the clinical base and managing a varied caseload including acute minor illnesses and exacerbations of chronic conditions. Assisting with telephone triage when there are lower levels of face-to-face consultations booked, providing expert clinical advice, risk assessment, and directing patients to appropriate care pathways. Utilising the Adastra clinical system to accurately record consultations and clinical notes. Dispensing medications from stock when required, in line with local protocols and safe medicines management. Working autonomously while collaborating closely with a multidisciplinary team - including doctors, nurses and administrative staff - to ensure seamless, patient-centred care. Making appropriate referrals to secondary care, liaising effectively with other services, and ensuring patient safety through sound clinical decision-making. Maintaining accurate clinical records and adhering to Practice Plus Group policies and NHS guidelines to uphold high standards of care.

The Urgent Care CSU have an exciting opportunity for an enthusiastic, highly motivated and organised individual who enjoys the challenge of working in an environment where no two days are the same, to join the Emergency Department Administration Management Team.
The successful candidate will act as the first-line manager for a team of clerical staff, providing effective day-to-day supervision and ensuring a professional, efficient and welcoming service across the Emergency Department Reception and Ward Clerk teams.
Main duties of the job
Key responsibilities will include monitoring staffing and stock levels to ensure service demands are met, supervising and supporting clerical staff, and providing training in all aspects of patient administration and customer service.
The post holder will work closely with medical, nursing and administrative colleagues across the Urgent Care service to ensure the smooth and effective delivery of front-of-house and administrative services. The Emergency Department Reception and Ward Clerk service operates 24 hours a day, 7 days a week. The successful applicant will therefore be required to work across both Emergency Departments at Leeds General Infirmary (LGI) and St Jamess University Hospital (SJUH), covering all aspects of the adults and paediatric Emergency Departments.
The role will involve working Monday to Sunday as part of a shift-based rota.The ability and willingness to work across both sites is essential.
Flexibility is an important requirement of the role. Where necessary, the post holder will be expected to provide additional cover to meet the needs of the service, including working weekends and Bank Holidays and responding to short-notice staffing requirements arising from sickness or emergency annual leave.

As a Biomedical Scientist, you are an integral part of the team; responsible for identifying pathogens which cause disease.

You will be performing an ambassadorial role, representing the department and the Trust as a 'front of house' reception service. We have an opportunity for a passionate and dedicated physiotherapist to join the orthopaedic/musculoskeletal team on a permanent basis fulfilling 19.25 hours per week of a Band 7 role.
Main duties of the job
The role would involve leading the service and being responsible for the other members of the team alongside the current band 7s. You will have an outpatient caseload with some clinic involvement and support the band 6 on the orthopaedic inpatient ward. Job summary
An exciting opportunity within Practice Plus IUC as an Advanced Clinical Practitioner within the new Clinical Resilience Team, providing enhanced clinical assessment and decision-making for patients accessing urgent care services. You will use telephone, video and online consultations to assess, diagnose and agree safe onward management plans, ensuring patients receive the most appropriate care without unnecessary repeat assessment. Working within the Clinical Assessment Service and alongside NHS 111 and Out of Hours teams, you will play a vital role in delivering high-quality, evidence-based care 24 hours a day, seven days a week. You will work autonomously within your scope of practice while contributing to a collaborative multidisciplinary environment. This is an opportunity to make a real difference to patient outcomes by providing timely clinical advice, prescribing where appropriate and supporting colleagues across urgent care services. Your expertise will help maintain safe, effective and responsive services for patients of all ages. You will also support service quality, clinical governance and the development of innovative models of care, helping Practice Plus IUC deliver outstanding patient-centred services. This is a fully remote role with an opportunity to support every part of our service as a specialist clinician to assist with the changing demand across the UK. Main duties of the job
Deliver advanced clinical assessment, diagnosis, advice and treatment planning through telephone, video and online consultations. Manage patients requiring enhanced clinical assessment and make timely decisions regarding referral, treatment, self-care or discharge. Prescribe safely within your scope of practice and agreed prescribing frameworks. Assess a wide range of adult and paediatric presentations, including complex and undifferentiated cases. Provide clinical support and specialist advice to multidisciplinary colleagues across NHS 111, Out of Hours and Clinical Assessment Service teams. Support validation of urgent dispositions and direct patients to the most appropriate services for their needs. Manage prescription requests and contribute to efficient patient care pathways using electronic prescribing systems. Maintain accurate clinical records, follow policies and protocols, and actively contribute to clinical governance activities. Participate in training, supervision, appraisal and continuous professional development activities.
About us
Current NMC or HCPC registration and MSc in Advanced Clinical Practice or equivalent qualification V300 (or equivalent) non-medical prescribing qualification. Extensive experience of telephone-based clinical assessment and triage. Strong primary care experience, including consultation, triage and holistic patient assessment. Confidence assessing, treating and safely managing patients of all ages, including young children. Excellent communication, listening and record-keeping skills with a patient-focused approach. Ability to work autonomously, manage pressure effectively and collaborate as part of a multidisciplinary team. Commitment to professional standards, continuous learning and delivering high-quality patient care.
