Job summary
The post is for a full time Consultant Anaesthetist with a special interest in Obstetrics/Trauma/Orthopaedics & Upper GI and a wider department of 99 Consultants, 9 Specialists, 2 SAS and 18 Speciality doctors, 2 Staff Grades, 1 Associate Specialist & 1 Junior Fellow to provide a comprehensive anaesthetic service to the University Hospital of North Midlands NHS Trust. The selected candidates will be responsible for providing and maintaining a safe, robust service and will have a wide knowledge in all aspects of general anaesthesia, and perioperative medicine.
Main duties of the job
- To actively engage and participate in the delivery of safe and effective anaesthetic services in support of the orthopaedics, acute trauma, CEPOD, upper GI, regional anaesthesia, fragility fracture service and adult general anaesthetic workload at the University Hospital of North Midlands (Royal Stoke University Hospital and County Hospital).
- To provide, alongside other consultant anaesthetists, leadership and strategic direction in the provision, development and assurance of safe and effective anaesthetic care.
- To lead and participate in clinical governance and quality improvement activities in the wider anaesthetic directorate.
- To actively participate in teaching, training and supervision of anaesthetic postgraduate doctors in training (PGDiTs) and medical students from Keele Medical School.

We have an exciting opportunity for two Band 8a Advanced Clinical Practitioner (ACP) committed to delivering high quality care to join our elective orthopaedic service at Mexborough Elective Orthopaedic Centre. There is joint partnership working between Doncaster and Bassetlaw Teaching Hospitals (DBTH), Barnsley Hospital NHS Foundation Trust (BH) and The Rotherham NHS Foundation Trust (TRFT) in a dedicated elective orthopaedic hub, with health professionals undertaking hip and knee replacement inpatient procedures alongside foot and ankle, hand and wrist, and shoulder day case surgery.
The Montagu Elective Orthopaedic Centre (MEOC) facility has two state-of-the-art theatre units, two anaesthetic rooms and a recovery suite, in addition to 12 inpatient beds.
Main duties of the job
To be part of our team the successful candidate will be an autonomous practitioner ensuring that your practice is underpinned by the four pillars of advanced clinical practice, have recent experience of caring for patients in an acute setting, have excellent leadership and clinical skills, as well as evidence of continuing professional development, have drive, ambition, passion, a flexible approach and dedicated to working in this modern, high quality environment supporting best practice for orthopaedic patients following GIRFT recommendations.
As an experienced ACP, you will provide high quality clinical care for patients presenting with a variety of orthopaedic elective surgeries, providing a comprehensive advanced clinical assessment, requesting and interpreting investigations, decision making, provision of treatment, prescribing, evaluation of care and referral to other healthcare professionals if required. The ACP will be the lead for the rapid response team for Mexborough Montagu Hospital. Whilst working autonomously the ACP will always work within a multi professional team led by a Consultant.
On appointment the successful candidates will be allocated a clinical and educational supervisor, access to eportfolio and will be supported to complete any educational or clinical training for their on-going CPD.

Applications are invited from HCPC Registered Biomedical Scientists with significant post registration experience in Microbiology as a BMS for the above post.
For this post we require an enthusiastic and motivated individual to work in our busy, well-equipped, UKAS accredited laboratory.
The post is based at Whiston Hospital and there is a requirement for full participation in the out of hours system.
The Department processes over 700,000 requests each year in a modern well equipped department.
Whiston Hospital is well situated close to the M62 and M57 motorways with good access to both Liverpool and Manchester.

Main duties of the job
Specialist Biomedical Scientists will act as experienced specialists who generally work without guidance or supervision to complete delegated tasks involved in the delivery of a clinical pathology service that enables a high standard of patient care. Those who satisfy competency assessments may work as an autonomous practitioner to provide a 24-hour pathology service for the Trust. The successful applicant will be expected to take a full part in any out of hours service agreed by the Trust.
Specialist BMSs carry out analyses on blood, body fluids, tissues and cells to determine the presence or absence of disease; this enables diagnosis, prognosis and monitoring of the effectiveness of treatment. Biomedical Scientists also carry out population screening for inherited or malignant disorders.

Technical
- Undertake manual, semi-automated and fully automated laboratory investigations on a rotational basis through all sections within the department as required.

- Microscopy: reporting Gram films (presence of bacteria and cells), Cerebro Spinal Fluid and Urines (presence of infection indicators), Faeces (presence of parasites)
- Interpret diagnostic laboratory results and take appropriate actions i.e.
- Authorisation of results
- Adding technical comments
- Making decisions for further testing
- Referring results for a second opinion
- Informing the requestor/medical staff of clinically significant results so appropriate action may be taken.
Communication
- Communicate results verbally to persons authorised to receive them in a clear and concise manner following appropriate policies and procedures.
- Provide advice and information to laboratory, ward, GP staff and patients regarding samples and sample handling including information on appropriate tests and collection conditions for in-house, referred and infrequently requested tests.
- Deal with result queries where information may be conflicting and difficult to understand.

Job summary
The Commissioning Support Officer will be the responsible operational lead for the co-ordination and day to day management of:

An exciting opportunity has arisen within the Older Adults Therapy Team at Hillingdon Hospital for a part time (0.6 whole time equivalent / 22.5 hours per week) band 6 OT.
We are seeking a band 6 Occupational Therapist to join our friendly, integrated inpatient therapy department on our dementia friendly Older Adults Rehabilitation Unit. There is a strong, collaborative, MDT approach on the ward, which is Consultant led and supported by nurses, AHPs and the wider team including discharge support workers and charities.
The therapy department is the third largest staff group within the Trust and is widely respected. As a band 6 Occupational Therapist, you will play an essential part in the assessment, treatment, and discharge of patients receiving rehabilitation on Beaconsfield East. You will work closely with the patient, their support network, and Multidisciplinary colleagues to achieve a positive outcome. As a B6 you will also supervise junior staff and facilitate student placements, while being supported by experienced B7 OTs and PT to grow and maximise your potential.
You will primarily be based in the therapy department's Beaconsfield East team but will have the opportunity to work across wards to cover the acute Older Adult wards, and the wider department as the service demands, which includes a Discharge Ready Ward.
This post is currently weekday only, however the Trust is working today included in the 7-day service.

South Tyneside and Sunderland Foundation Trust seeks Applications for a friendly team player for a Trust Grade Doctor Post at CT3/ST3+ level or equivalent. You will participate in the provision of service primarily based in Intensive Care on the South Tyneside Hospital site. This Post will allow you to further-develop your clinical skills and experience in a supportive and dynamic department with a track record for excellence in training. As a Trust doctor you will be entitled to study leave. Clinical and educational supervision will be provided, with opportunities for development in leadership and management, quality improvement and medical education.
The Post is based in South Tyneside though you must be willing to work across both acute sites within the Trust. The out-of-hours resident duties of this Post will primarily be based at the six-bed Intensive Care Unit at South Tyneside Hospital on a 1:9 rota. Some activity may possibly be delivered in the 16-bed Intensive Care Unit in Sunderland. Sessions in Anaesthesia may also be available.
You will work in a team of residents from the Northern School of Anaesthesia & ICM, Specialty and Trust Grade doctors and consultant intensivists.
You must be fully-registered with the General Medical Council with a licence to practice, and have significant demonstrable experience in intensive care and anaesthesia within the NHS. Applications from clinicians unable to work full-time will also be considered.

Job summary
Working in conjunction with the Directorate Medical Leads, the post holder must ensure the provision of high quality patient care by efficiently deploying junior medical staff across specialities, including on call, across the Urgent, Planned and Network Groups.
This will involve close liaison with junior doctors, Consultants, Medical Leads, and management teams and the Trust's Medical Human Resources department. It will be necessary to have a daily overview of all junior medical staff within the care groups, anticipate problems and autonomously resolve situations.
Will be responsible for the day to day management of medical staffing rotas across allocated areas, working on own initiative to identify and resolve issues, taking action as deemed appropriate. The post holder will co-ordinate, log and monitor all types of leave for medical staff, including Consultants.
Work closely with medical staffing bank and locum agencies to minimise spend on locum cover whilst ensuring safe staffing levels.
Will act as the first point of contact for issues relating to Junior Doctors including sickness reporting, annual leave, study leave, shift swaps and organising locum cover. This will include the involvement in induction of the rotating doctors.
Main duties of the job
- Prepare rotas and manage administrative tasks supporting the creating, collation and completion of rotas as required.
- Plan ahead and pre-empt rota gaps and ensure locum cover as necessary. This will require the ability to acquire an in-depth knowledge of the process for rota management and ability to identify the appropriate grade of support to the correct area within the specialty.
- Identify internal resources to cover gaps and encourage doctors to join locum bank.
- Ensure that locums booked receive reporting instructions and induction materials, including EPR training and log in details.
- The post holder will be responsible for the preparation and distribution of weekly rotas ensuring that all sessions are covered by the relevant grade, identifying gaps in the rotas and escalating as necessary. Any amendments to the rota after distribution to be advised to all relevant parties.

Job summary
We have an opportunity for an energetic, enthusiastic and well-motivated individual to join the Molecular Diagnostics Department at the Royal Surrey Foundation Trust as a full time Senior Scientist at AfC Band 7. This post is open to state registered biomedical scientists or clinical scientists with the appropriate experience and background.
The Department is part of Berkshire and Surrey Pathology Services (BSPS) and provides ISO15189 accredited specialist molecular diagnostic services to six NHS Trusts as well as private healthcare facilities across the region. The department specialises in the delivery of a number of genetic services and in the provision of specialist cancer services.
The job advertised here is to contribute to the development and delivery of specific cancer services.
Main duties of the job
We are looking for an experienced state registered scientist who is proactive in developing laboratory processes, has a keen eye for detail and works well in a team environment. Key responsibilities include overseeing the processing of both manual and automated complex molecular assay preparation such as PCR, sequencing and genetic signature analyses. The post-holder will be active in the day-to-day management of our commercial laboratory services and will be expected to interact effectively with senior clinicians and nursing staff from numerous NHS and private healthcare facilities as well as oversee departmental junior staff. They will have significant understanding of the maintenance of a quality management system. The post-holder will assist in training junior staff. They will take responsibility for the assessment, authorisation and release of diagnostic patient results.

This is an exciting opportunity to join the Planned Care team as a Patient Pathway Coordinator (PPC).
We currently have an opportunity for a Band 4 PPC at the Royal Berkshire NHS Foundation Trust (RBFT), where we provide a first-class, efficient, pro-active and patient-focused admin service.
We are looking for an enthusiastic, highly motivated and organized individual to provide specialist admin support to the Paediatrics team.
You will need to be confident working within a team in a fast-paced environment and have good IT skills, be comfortable communicating with patients and colleagues at all levels and work quickly and accurately under pressure.
You will be responsible and accountable for consistently and accurately carrying out your duties as well as the provision of a high quality and efficient service, providing this in a confident and courteous way to service users.
Main duties of the job
The role will provide comprehensive administrative support to the Clinical Team.
You will support the CAT in the delivery of a patient-focused service, and be responsible for the processing of general admin duties, answering the telephones to patients, other healthcare providers and internal staff, scheduling of appointments, processing of clinic letters and other administrative duties.
This post benefits from previous experience of delivering high levels of customer/patient service, working within an administrative environment, preferable experience within the NHS but this is not essential, using multiple computer systems and managing data (electronic and paper based).
Knowledge of the 18 week pathway would also be beneficial.

We are a professional, skilled and friendly team who work safely with our patients in Erewash to provide innovative, high-quality, evidence-based wound care.
The team are based at Ilkeston Hospital and Long Eaton Health Centre and, on occasion, support other wound clinics across Derbyshire.
The working hours are 08.30 am-4.30 pm, Monday-Friday, including weekends and Bank Holidays.
Main duties of the job
By joining this supportive and dedicated team you will have the opportunity to develop skills and knowledge of wound healing, factors that prevent healing and to provide optimum care for patients with a wide variety of wounds.
There will be training provided to enhance your skills to enable you to work as an independent clinician providing high quality patient care.
Within our growing service there are also opportunities for further academic learning and support for career development.
The main focus of this role is to:
Assess, review and complete wound care for patients.
Provide a plan of care using wound care policies and pathways for guidance utilising the wound care dressings formulary for DCHS.
Liaise with Wound Clinic Lead Nurse and Tissue Viability specialists when indicated.
Providing holistic assessment of patients' needs making onward referrals where required.
Ensure safeguarding needs are met and escalated where indicated.
Supporting junior staff and students in achieving their learning outcomes.
Support Wound Clinic Lead Nurse and cover when needed.

Main duties of the job
The Multiple Sclerosis (MS) Clinical Nurse Specialist (CNS) works as part of the Community Neurological Rehabilitation Team (CNRT) supporting all aspects of care for people with MS in Walsall. The post holder will provide specialist nursing assessment, review and intervention to the population of people with Multiple Sclerosis within Walsall and work as an effective member of the multidisciplinary CNRT. The team aim to provide coordinated rehabilitation and long term neurological condition management, demonstrating an integrated approach to care across acute and community settings. The post holder will ensure a person centred approach in representing and consulting with clients to promote autonomy and quality of life whilst living with a neurological condition.
Working in a non-medical prescribing role, the post holder will also oversee the care and support for patients on disease modifying therapies including development of pathways to support emerging treatments closer to home. This will involve working in partnership with Consultant Neurologists and MS Specialist Nursing staff at Regional MS Centre - Queen Elizabeth Hospital, Birmingham and cross-boundary Consultant Neurologists.

Main duties of the job

Job summary
We are looking to recruit a staff nurse to join our small team of SACT nurses who deliver systemic anti-cancer therapies on site in the Macmillan Cancer Unit at Leighton Hospital.
You must be flexible to meet the needs of our service and be able to work flexibly between the hours of 8am and 8pm. The Unit is currently open Monday to Friday though some weekend working is anticipated in the future as our service expands to deliver more SACT closer to home. This is a role where you can learn and develop new skills whilst working within a supportive environment.
We deliver SACT to patients who are undergoing treatment for haematological cancers and solid tumours and work with a number of visiting Oncologists from tertiary centres such as The Christie and the University Hospitals of North Midlands. We receive excellent feedback from our patients about the level of care we provide.
This post is 14 hours and 45 minutes per week
Main duties of the job
The successful applicant must have good communication skills and work well as part of a small team. Previous experience of working with cancer patients or within a cancer setting is essential.
You must have experience of current chemotherapy administration and you must have completed the degree level module for Chemotherapy administration or SACT passport. Your application will not be considered if you can not demonstrate this.You must have experience in cannulation, accessing CVAD's, phlebotomy and have the confidence to administer chemotherapy under nurse-led protocols.
