Job summary
An opportunity has arisen for two band 7, Advanced Speech and Language Therapists. These posts are permanent and will provide input into the Learning Disabilities Community Teams in Sunderland and Gateshead.
Post 1: This is a part-time position, working 22.5 hours per week, based at Monkwearmouth Hospital in Sunderland.
Post 2: This is a part-time position, working 30 hours per week, based at Bensham Hospital in Gateshead.
We are looking for dedicated, enthusiastic individuals with specialist clinical experience in this area. You will work as part of a multi-disciplinary team and have the skills and knowledge to develop the delivery of speech and language therapy within these services, whilst providing excellent, high quality input.
These services provide assessment, intervention and an MDT approach/care co-ordination service to adults who have a learning disability, behaviours that challenge and/or mental health needs and require specialist speech and language therapy input for communication and dysphagia needs.
Main duties of the job
You will work collaboratively with the multidisciplinary teams to provide integrated community support for communication and dysphagia issues providing assessment, treatment and rehabilitation as required.
You will need to be confident in providing high quality, evidence-based assessments and interventions and have an understanding and experience of working with people with a range of complex issues from a variety of settings and environments. Liaison with community teams, other organisations and with families and carers will be a significant part of this role.
You will possess excellent communication and organisational skills and the ability to work independently. There will be a requirement to share knowledge and skills specific to speech and language therapy with other members of the team including stakeholders.
You will contribute to, write and review care plans and provide high quality, patient centred care. You will have a varied caseload, working in day centres and patients' homes with opportunities to contribute to a range of wider projects within the community setting. You will work closely with the clinical lead for the team and will provide clinical supervision, support and leadership for other members of the team as designated.

We are delighted to offer the opportunity for a Consultant Psychiatrist to join our Mental Health Liaison Team at Ipswich Hospital.
You will play a key role in the multi-disciplinary team, as a clinical leader, in the care of people with complex needs, through your expertise and innovative approach, in a team committed to continuous improvement.
As Consultant Psychiatrist you will also support aftercare for people receiving support under the Mental Health Act, as Responsible Clinician under Section 12.
The people we serve, and their families and carers are at the centre of all aspects of all we do.
Main duties of the job
The post holder provides medical input to an existing Mental Health Liaison team to provide medical leadership, Team advice and guidance and medical consultation to our service users. Both full time and part time applicants are encouraged to apply.
As part of STP investment, a 24/7 telephone access to a trained mental health crisis response team and Core 24 service was established which will offer access to people of all ages to enquire about support for themselves or for family and friends if they are in crisis. Some of these crisis presents themselves at A&E which is managed by Mental Health Liaison Team.
The team is an all-age team, with additional Consultant medical input for under 18 pathways. The post holder will be providing support to adult patients and 18 plus pathway.
The post holder is appointed as a senior professional to provide advanced professional expertise and clinical leadership. As such, the post holder is always expected to conduct him/herself in such a manner as to be demonstrably helping the Trust to deliver its strategic and business objectives, and to act as an ambassador at the interface with external partners and stakeholders. At no time must the post holder bring the Trust into disrepute.
Additionally, the post-holder, as is expected from the holder of a senior public position, must always comply fully with the Nolan Principles and the Standards of Business Conduct.

Job summary
We are seeking an exceptional leader to become our Organisational Resilience (Service Manager) providing strategic leadership for Emergency Preparedness, Resilience and Response (EPRR), business continuity and organisational resilience across the Trust. This is a high-profile role with direct responsibility for leading the Trust's approach to preparedness, response and recovery, ensuring we can continue to deliver safe patient care during major incidents, service disruptions and wider organisational challenges.
Reporting to the Chief Operating Officer as the Accountable Emergency Officer, you will provide expert advice to Executive Directors, senior clinical leaders and Trust committees while leading the Trust's EPRR assurance programme and resilience agenda. You will lead a specialist team, work closely with clinical and corporate services, and represent the Trust across local, regional and national resilience partnerships. You will be equally comfortable working through others on operational issues, developing strategy, providing assurance and supporting command arrangements during business continuity issues incidents.

Job summary
An exciting opportunity has arisen for a Support Medical Secretary to join the Thoracic Surgery Department at Sheffield Teaching Hospitals. This role is pivotal in enabling the Directorate to provide a high-quality, comprehensive and professional administrative service to patients, relatives, carers and other internal and external stakeholders.
Cardiothoracic Service is based at both Northern General Hospital and Royal Hallamshire Hospital and is the service provider for South Yorkshire, North Derbyshire, North Lincolnshire and North Nottinghamshire, serving a population in excess of 2.2 million people. The fundamental goal of the department is to improve the quality of care offered to thoracic patients so that they can live as productive and independent a life as possible.
This role is offered on a 12-month fixed-term basis to address current operational pressures, improve administrative support across patient pathways, and provide flexibility to align future administrative structures with planned service expansion and consultant workforce growth.
Main duties of the job
You will be working on varied roles but your main duties include the following:
Type patient letters relating to clinic appointments, test results, referrals, discharge summaries from digital audio dictation, long hand, or verbal dictation. Aiming towards turning typing around in 48 hours.
Cover the medical secretaries absences (sickness and annual leave) taking telephone messages and undertaking any urgent typing and tasks for the consultant and team.
To assist the medical secretaries in managing patients through their 31/62 cancer pathway and 18 week pathway. To validate pathways and amend them on ConnectEPR when typing. To escalate any possible breaches to Line Managers.
Assisting medical secretaries in the management of in-patient waiting lists ensuring that Trust and National waiting list policies and procedures are adhered to, tracking the patients through their cancer pathway and 18 week pathway for their in-patient stay.
Management of patient investigations using Trust computer systems.
Dealing with telephone queries from patients/other healthcare workers.

Job summary
We are seeking a dedicated and proactive Fit Tester to join our Fit Testing Department, supporting staff across London North West University Healthcare NHS Trust. This role is primarily based at Northwick Park Hospital, with occasional travel to other Trust sites (approximately twice per month) to meet service needs.
The successful candidate will play a key role in ensuring staff safety by delivering high-quality respiratory protective equipment (RPE) fit testing services. This includes both qualitative and quantitative fit testing for tight-fitting respirators, as well as supporting the maintenance, management, and use of Powered Air Purifying Respirators (PAPRs).
You will provide training and guidance to staff on the correct use of RPE, including donning and doffing techniques, mask suitability, and safe handling and storage. Additionally, you will be responsible for maintaining accurate records, monitoring compliance, and ensuring equipment is properly maintained and available.
This role requires excellent communication, organisation, and customer service skills, as you will work closely with clinical and non-clinical teams across the Trust to deliver an efficient and reliable service. You will also contribute to the upkeep and routine maintenance of RPE, including PAPR systems, ensuring they are safe, functional, and ready for use at all times.
Main duties of the job
- Responsible for fit testing staff to ensure that respirators (re-usable and disposable masks) fit their face using either the qualitative and quantitative fit testing methods in accordance to HSE INDG 479
- Routinely replace reusable masks filters
- Accurately record outcomes of fit testing (this may include paper records, spreadsheets and databases).
- Review records relating to fit testing to identify staff who are due for routine retesting or have not been tested on new masks available within the Trust stock.
- Maintain Respiratory Protective Equipment (RPE) and Fit Testing equipment to ensure sufficient testing equipment is ordered to continue fit testing staff trust wide
- Communicate key messages to all wards and specialities regarding fit testing
- Train staff with fit checking the masks

Main duties of the job
The RRN would be expected to work across all sites to help set up research services & deliver commercial clinical research trials. The RRN will work with the Lead Roving Research Nurse to ensure that the highest professional standard of nursing care is delivered to research participants and, where relevant their families, in partnership with all clinical teams and in adherence to all NIHR CRDC (Primary Care) & TAP protocols/policies & guidelines. The role of the RRN needs to be flexible in line with the present atmosphere for change within health service delivery and the variance of research studies undertaken. It is essential that the RRN must work under their own sphere of competency & be able to work autonomously across all collaboration sites with recognising the need to reach out for help when required. It is the role of the RRN to adhere to Good Clinical Practice (GCP) at all times enabling a safe research journey for each.

The Safeguarding Nurse/Practitioner will demonstrate a sound understanding of the needs and risks affecting vulnerable adults, children and families. This is an internal recruitment opportunity offered as a 9-month fixed-term contract or secondment to provide maternity cover. It is designed as a development opportunity for an existing ROH registered nurse or Allied Health Professional (AHP) with some safeguarding experience who wishes to develop specialist safeguarding knowledge and skills. The post holder will receive structured supervision, support and mentorship from the Named Nurse for Safeguarding, Lead Nurse for Safeguarding and Vulnerabilities, and Head of Safeguarding, enabling them to develop experience across all aspects of safeguarding practice.

Main duties of the job
The post holder will support the safeguarding team in monitoring and improving standards of care, providing safeguarding advice to frontline staff, contributing to safeguarding governance, audits and quality improvement, and assisting with the planning and delivery of mandatory safeguarding training. They will develop and apply knowledge of key safeguarding legislation and guidance, including the Children Act (2004), Working Together to Safeguard Children (2023), the Mental Capacity Act (2005), Deprivation of Liberty Safeguards, the Domestic Abuse Act (2021), and the Care Act (2014).
The Safeguarding Nurse/Practitioner will work collaboratively with internal teams and external partner agencies to minimise risk and promote the safety and wellbeing of vulnerable adults, children and families.

Applications are invited from suitably experienced HCPC registered Biomedical Scientists or a suitably qualified trainee working towards HCPC registration, to join our busy team within the Department of Histology based at Derriford Hospital Plymouth.The laboratory is well equipped and handles over 40,000 requests per annum.
We are looking for an enthusiastic, motivated, highly adaptable person who is a good team player and communicator and has the ability to liaise effectively with colleagues and service users.
Candidates who have completed an IBMS accredited Degree or Degree with IBMS approved top up qualification and are working towards HCPC registration via portfolio will be considered and will initially be employed at 75% of the top of band 5 under Annex 21, until they have obtained HCPC registration.
Candidates who are completing the level 6 apprenticeship will also be considered but must have completed year 1.
As the future of Pathology evolves, there will be requirements to offer a 7 day, 24/7 service.

Job summary
As a category 1 responder UKHSA has a critical responsibility to scale laboratory diagnostic capacity within the first 6 weeks of an emerging threat with epidemic or pandemic potential. One way in which this will be delivered is through a new standby semi-automated and high throughput PCR testing facility at our Porton Down scientific campus. We are therefore looking for an HCPC registered Senior Biomedical Scientist to lead delivery of the facility's quality management system.
Successful applicants will join a new team, Amplify, within the Diagnostic and Pathogen Characterisation Division and work alongside colleagues in the Rare and Imported Pathogen Laboratory (RIPL) and Diagnostic Development and Implementation team. You will be responsible for overseeing the development and implementation of the facility's quality management system, under the umbrella of RIPL, the co-located and ISO 15189 accredited clinical laboratory for rare, emerging, imported and high consequence infectious diseases.
The Post holder will be expected to be flexible to the demands of the project area, have excellent communication skills and use their technical experience to ensure the service is delivered on time and remains ready to respond. This will include changing patterns of work to include out of hours shifts when incident or outbreak response mode is activated and supporting the delivery of research testing and training activities in support of wider organisational priorities.
Main duties of the job
o Implement the facility's quality management system (QMS), ensuring compatibility and compliance with the RIPL QMS to enable ISO 15189 accreditation under a single schedule of accreditation.o Support and train laboratory staff to perform quality activities and monitor their effectiveness.o Deputise as appropriate for senior staff and act as head BMS in the absence of the facility manager.o Deliver training to internal and external scientists in support of wider pandemic preparedness activities, with a focus on how to implement effective QMS for high throughput testing facilities.o Participate in routine and out of hour testing rotas to ensure provision of sufficient testing capacity in line with business needs.
