- Work collaboratively with the wider sexual health team and digital communications leads to promote outreach activities, support service development, and improve engagement with harder-to-reach populations.
- Ensure safe management of medicines, equipment, and outreach resources, while supporting staff development, supervision, and training activities as required.

Job summary
Join University Hospitals Birmingham's innovative Spinal Cord Injury (SCI) Networked Model of Care team and help shape the future of acute SCI services. Working closely with SCI Clinical Leads, Midlands Centre for Spinal Injuries, multidisciplinary teams and regional partners, you will provide expert clinical leadership, assessment, education and support for patients with acute SCI, their families and healthcare professionals across the region.
This autonomous specialist role offers the opportunity to manage a complex caseload, influence service development, drive quality improvement initiatives and deliver education programmes across the region. You will be instrumental in improving patient pathways, reducing variation in care and ensuring patients receive evidence-based, person-centred support.
We are looking for an experienced Nurse or AHP with significant post-registration experience in acute spinal cord injury care. You will have advanced clinical reasoning skills, a strong commitment to education and service improvement, and the confidence to work collaboratively with senior clinicians and stakeholders.
In return, we offer the opportunity to work within a highly specialised service, contribute to regional strategy, develop advanced practice skills and make a lasting difference to the lives of people with SCI.
If you are motivated by innovation, leadership and improving outcomes for patients with complex needs, we would love to hear from you. Full and part-time opportunities available.
Main duties of the job
The successful candidates will be expected to be able to work autonomously and collaboratively with multidisciplinary teams, working across professional boundaries to optimise clearly defined patient care plans, outcomes and a stratified follow up programme, to achieve a holistic approach through patient centred care. The post holders will provide leadership, guidance and exercise judgment in making patient centred decisions within current best practice guidance, relevant legal frameworks and with clear understanding of the relevant professional and applied ethical frameworks. The post holder will assist in monitoring and improving standards of care and play an active role in the reporting and evaluation of care related to regionally agreed key performance indicators. The post holders will also play an active role in teaching and supporting professional colleagues and the provision of professional leadership, contributing to clinical effectiveness across the Trust by participating in audit/research as part of the MDT in the field of SCI care and treatment.
The successful candidates will have a proven track record in the delivering the best care for SCI patients and will be a part of a "networked model of SCI care" with the post holder expected to travel across the region including MCSI (Oswestry).
