Job summary
The Directorate of Laboratory Medicine also known as Eastern Pathology Alliance encompasses Clinical Biochemistry, Haematology, Immunology, Microbiology and Cytogenetics. EPA provides a range of analysis of blood, body fluids and tissues for the Hospital inpatient and out-patient population, all the GP's in Norfolk and other neighbouring Trusts.
The majority of these samples arrive in the central reception area where they are sorted, registered on the lab computer systems and prepared for analysis.
Part time: 8.75 hours per week
Interview date: 10th October 2026
Main duties of the job
- sample sorting and re-directing
- checking the samples for suitability
- registering them in the Lab computer systems
- labelling and preparing for analysis.
Preparation includes use of centrifuges, balances and pipettes.
A good deal of manual dexterity is required, with an ability to work carefully and accurately and to use own initiative.

Medical Secretary - Oncology Band 3 21.75 hours Permanent
To provide an effective and efficient Support Medical Secretary service to named Consultants within the Oncology/Medicine services. To provide support for the team of Medical Secretaries in order to meet trust targets.
Main duties of the job
- To provide a personal assistant and medical secretarial service directly to named Consultants under the medicine business group.
- To collate information for clinical audits if required
- To undertake medical audio/copy typing duties including outpatient letters to General Practitioners and any other official correspondence i.e. reports
- To be responsible for and collation of investigation results
- Responsible for obtaining relevant investigation results from PACS and Intranet result service.
- To deal with day-to-day incoming mail, assigning priority and/or taking any necessary action without reference to consultant staff if necessary and within remit
- To ensure patient pathways are updated as appropriate.
- To respond to enquiries received from GP's and other Health Personnel, patients and relatives
- To maintain patient records and track notes electronically in a manner acceptable to the Trust
- Engage in the use of Evolve and all other electronic patient notes system
- To observe absolute confidentiality of all information obtained in the course of your work
- To liaise with Health Records/Appointments staff regarding outpatient clinic numbers and urgent appointments
- To cover, as practical, other secretarial team member absences
- To deal with day to day incoming mail, assigning priority and / or taking any necessary action

Main duties of the job
Canons House is a lifeline for families of children with profound and multiple learning difficulties and complex health and care needs. Our team at Canons House support children and young people aged 5 to 17 to experience stability, familiarisation, a sense of belonging and positive physical, emotional and mental health.
As a Childcare Officer, you will support the vulnerable and disabled children with complex health, support and personal care needs, help children access and enjoy a wide range of fun and accessible activities, experiences and opportunities to explore their individual interests. You will also take part in all areas of care planning, risk assessment and support. This involves working alongside Health Care professionals, Social Workers, Schools and other supportive agencies. Senior Clinical Fellow in the Department of Geriatric Medicine
This post gives the successful candidate an excellent opportunity to experience Geriatric Medicine in a busy hospital setting with daily Consultant supervision.
You will be expected to take an active role in the department, participating in daily ward and board rounds, implementation of early assessment, diagnostics and clinical management of patients in all our areas. There are opportunities for study leave, audit and training.
These posts are not recognised training posts however there are excellent teaching and postgraduate facilities. The post holders will be encouraged to attend a wide range of education meetings at lunchtimes throughout the week, and clinical experience will be gained from the Department's own educational programme. Educational and clinical supervisors will be provided along with access to study leave and funding.
Main duties of the job
The Senior Clinical Fellows principal clinical responsibility is to assist in the investigation and treatment of in-patients admitted to the service. They will be expected to attend consultant ward rounds with the consultant of the day. These are structured formal ward rounds where the clinical fellow will be expected to present cases, and discuss the differential diagnosis and management. They will have access to the in house teaching programme, and will be taught how to carry out appropriate practical skills, and may be expected to perform these with supervision on patients admitted to the ward.
The post holder is responsible for maintaining a full clinical record of patients admitted to the ward. They will be required to produce a written summary of the admission at the time of discharge; They will participate in audit data collection, and attend clinical governance / audit meetings. The appointee will be expected to dictate out-patient letters from patients or patients seen in clinic.
Jointly manage with the other Senior clinical fellows and trainees in the department of patients admitted to the allocated wards and clinical areas of responsibility.

Job summary
We are seeking an inspiring and dynamic pharmacist to join our inpatient mental health pharmacy team. The role will provide clinical leadership within the clinical pharmacy service in Chelmsford, to support the medicines-related care of patients, address and improve existing pathways in mental health, participate in training, education and research as required, and to support robust medicines optimisation. The role will deputise for the Pharmacist Team Manager for Adult and Elderly Inpatient Mental Health Services in Mid and South Essex. This post would suit an experienced pharmacist with uncompromising standards who will strive to make a deep footprint on quality of care we provide to our patients. The post is based in Chelmsford, with responsibility for Mid and South Essex Inpatient and Urgent Care Services.
They will be highly visible on wards in actively modelling best practice to and coaching our ward teams to ensure that our patients consistently receive the best pharmaceutical care. Job summary
The post holder will work with the Mid & South Essex Adult ADHD Service to assess and guide intervention for suspected Attention Deficit Hyperactivity Disorder (ADHD). This role includes skills training, supervision and consultation and the post holder will work alongside Assistant Psychologists, Trainee Clinical Associate Psychologists, specialist nurses, pharmacists and psychiatrists. The MDT also work with relevant community teams within health, and Social Care as well as voluntary sectors. The team integrates and works in partnership with local Primary Care Networks (PCNs) and NHS Talking Therapies to develop further support for individuals. There is a role for ongoing training and consultation to the PCNs, mental health and GP colleagues in secondary and primary care services as well as in the wider community.
This post is crucial in spanning the clinical delivery of psychological assessment and intervention for people with suspected ADHD who are not already known to secondary mental health services.
Main duties of the job
A really exciting opportunity has arisen to support the continued development of the multidisciplinary ADHD service across Mid and South Essex. This post will be aligned with the South Essex Autism Service and in future we hope that we can look towards developing a more integrated neurodevelopmental service.

Integrated Pathology Solutions LLP (IPS) is seeking an experienced and motivated manager to join us as Pathology Operations Manager. The role will provide operational and HR leadership across a range of pathology teams, with a particular focus on Phlebotomy and Point of Care Testing (POCT) services.
This is an exciting opportunity to broaden your experience within a busy, multi-site pathology department of more than 400 staff. During this fixed-term post, the successful candidate will have the opportunity to support staff through periods of service transformation, contribute to meaningful consultation processes, and help strengthen team morale and individual development.
Based primarily at Harrogate District Hospital, with the need for some cross-site working and travel, the postholder will work closely with the Pathology General Manager for the Harrogate site, and the Director of Operations, to maintain effective operational support. We are looking for an enthusiastic problem solver and confident communicator who is keen to contribute as part of the Pathology Senior Leadership Team and further develop their strategic leadership experience.
Main duties of the job
The successful candidate will work closely with the Phlebotomy Manager and POCT Managers, and other colleagues to support delivery of comprehensive, high-quality and safe services.
Demonstrable experience of managing staff and services is essential. Candidates should be well motivated, innovative and highly organised, with strong practical abilities, excellent IT skills and confident use of productivity tools. Detailed experience of Microsoft 365, including Teams, is essential, alongside well-developed communication and interpersonal skills and the ability to support both individual and team working.
Pathology experience is an advantage however candidates with a strong track-record of general staff management and leadership, and/or experience of leading service transformation are encouraged to apply.

The Community Rehabilitation Service currently has an opportunity for an innovative and enthusiastic Band 6 Occupational Therapist to join their team. The Community Rehabilitation Service is a multi-disciplinary therapy team providing assessment and rehabilitation in a community setting for those with a range of progressive or acquired neurological conditions. The work is community based and so you must be able to travel throughout the boroughs of Havering and Barking and Dagenham efficiently and effectively. The team has two sites which are currently Yew Tree Resource Centre, Romford, RM7 9AA and at Porters Avenue Health Centre, RM8 2EQ. The successful applicants will be required to work from the two sites to support junior staff and manage complex patients across the two boroughs. There is a well-established appraisal system and a commitment to support staff to develop leadership and clinical skills, through regular supervision, a structured neurology in-service training programme and internal and external training opportunities. The service works closely with our colleagues across the Stroke and Neurology pathway including our Stroke Unit at Meadow Court, Goodmayes, and our team of specialist nurses in PD, MND and MS to aid us in the holistic management of our patients.

The secretarial team work fairly autonomously but also form part of the wider practice team of clinicians and admin staff. We are keen to replace a member of staff who is leaving as soon as possible. An exciting opportunity has come up for the Adult Community Nursing Service, Night Nursing. We are currently looking for a skilled person who can do 21 hours a week (1 overnight shift- 11 hours and 2 twilight shifts- 10 hours) to work across the Hounslow locality based at Clayponds Hospital on a Fixed Term Contract for 6 months to cover maternity. The service operates from 19:00 until 07:00 seven days a week. The service has 2 shifts, 19:00 until 12 midnight (Twilight) and 19:00 until 7:00 AM (Overnight).
Please note that the service is currently undergoing service re-design and the operational hours will change by 7th December 2026 from 7pm-7am to 8pm-8am under phase 1 transformation project. The phase 2 (TBC) will be happening shortly after the implantation of phase 1 with the Night Service re-design involving the twilight and the overnight shifts. We are looking for someone who will be very flexible in supporting the new service structure in the future.
The service also delivers urgent community response between 20:00 and 22:00 as part of the service specification and to prevent hospital admission.
Main duties of the job
To carry out clinical duties and be prepared to undertake clinical skills as per needs of the service and specific patient after training and competence assessment with support from an identified mentor for example, venepuncture, Blood Pressure, pulse and temperature recording, urinalysis, blood glucose monitoring, simple wound dressings and non-complex tasks such as continence reviews.
To undertake basic duties as delegated and overseen by the registered nurse and actively report any changes in a patient's condition in a timely way to the registered nurse.
Liaise with other health care and multi-agency workers to provide a multi-disciplinary approach to care.
To communicate with patients at a time and level appropriate to their needs in a manner that promotes positive health.

We are looking to recruit a highly motivated and flexible clinician with excellent clinical reasoning skills to join the Community Recovery Service.
The Community Recovery service is an integrated health and social care service for adults identified with uni and multi-disciplinary needs for recovery. The service will support independence by providing rehabilitation and reablement after an acute illness, injury or change in life circumstances. It aims to restore and maximise function or prevent deterioration in physical, psychological and social functioning through episodes of rehabilitation and reablement.
Therapists provide support and rehabilitation in the home.
The Community Recovery Service provides therapy for various pathways including: Core/ general rehabilitation, Discharge to Assess Reablement (CRS+) Integrated discharge hub at west Middlesex hospital.All health and social care professionals within the Community Recovery Service will have a set of core skills that all staff in the team are able to deliver regardless of profession. This supports the single assessment process, maximises use of resources and minimises duplication.
In addition, team members will retain specialist skills and knowledge which will be utilised as required to support specific clinical pathways. Specialists will also support other team members' work to ensure fulfilment of relevant goals.
Main duties of the job
The successful candidate will act as a specialist clinician, participating as a member of the team while independently managing a specialist clinical caseload.
Manage and prioritise a professional caseload within the interdisciplinary service through efficient workload management, supervision and adjustment of service provision to meet changing priorities and ensure individual patients receive intervention timeously and appropriately.
They will provide high quality comprehensive Physiotherapy assessment and treatment to adults referred to the Hounslow Community Recovery Service.
Develop and deliver an individualised treatment programmes based on a problem solving and advanced clinical reasoning approach to the patients referred and monitor, evaluate and modify treatment to measure progress and ensure effectiveness of intervention using valid outcome measures.
Work closely with the multi-agency team to meet the needs of the patients and enable them to receive a comprehensive service.

The post holder will be part of a small IT Service Desk team and will provide first-line IT and Clinical Application support to the trust.
