Job summary
This is a 10 PA's Consultant Dermatology post with activity basedmainly at the Friends Dermatology Centre within the Kent andCanterbury Hospital (KCH) in Canterbury, but will also include arequirement to occasionally work Trustwide.
East Kent has a highly regarded, active, established surgical and Mohsmicrographic surgery service that has been developed over many years with leading UK dermatologic surgeons at the helm. An energetic and enthusiastic colleague with an interest in Skin cancer, paediatrics, general dermatology clinic with and occasional Skin surgery.
Main duties of the job
The general responsibilities of the post will be those expected of a senior clinical employee of the Trust.
These include:
- Provision of a first-class clinical service
- Effective leadership to all staff involved in supporting the service
- Conducting clinical practice in accordance with the highest ethical standards
- Co-operation with and maintenance of confidentiality over business plans and developmentstrategies within the Trust
- Support for other clinical specialties and contribution to postgraduate teaching
The appointee will be expected to deliver a service covering all aspects of dermatology, but a special interest to complement those of the existing consultants would be encouraged.

We are looking for a compassionate and organised PALS Co-ordinator to be the first point of contact for patients, families and visitors who need advice, support or guidance.
As part of our Experience of Care Team, you will play a vital role in ensuring concerns are listened to, enquiries are resolved promptly and patients and families receive the support they need. Working closely with clinical and non-clinical colleagues, you will help improve patient experience across our services.
We are looking for someone who has excellent customer service and communication skills, the ability to handle sensitive conversations with empathy and professionalism and strong organisational and IT skills. The successful candidate will have experience working in a busy, customer-focused environment with a positive, solution-focused approach and commitment to outstanding patient care.
Main duties of the job
As a PALS Co-Ordinator, you will
- Provide advice, information and signposting to patients and carers.
- Help navigate and facilitate the resolution of patient enquiries and concerns, working collaboratively with services across the trust.
- Maintain accurate records and support patient feedback systems.
- Work collaboratively with teams across the Trust to improve patient experience.

Main duties of the job
The successful candidate will be expected to support respiratory services at QEQMH which have ward-based working. The Respiratory team at the QEQMH manages patients on Fordwich ward, a 20 bedded ward, which is a purpose-built ward for respiratory patients. NIV patients are managed on this ward and all staff are trained to do this. There will also be involvement with Outpatient Clinics seeing a variety of New and Follow up Respiratory patients.
The appointee will share junior staff with a Consultant consisting of 4 middle grade doctors (including 2 x Higher Specialty Trainee) and 4/5 F1 to IMT grade doctors. An interest in pleural disease management, Lung cancer and ILD would be an advantage. Candidates interested in Intensive care/Respiratory Medicine, or Infectious diseases/Respiratory Medicine are also very welcome and any combination of specialities can be discussed. Any other interests will also be welcomed and supported. Applicants interested in education and involvement with the new Medical School will be supported.

The Gynae cancer team is seeking an experienced and highly motivated Band 4 Cancer Support Worker, to join the team in a cancer support worker role for a 12 month period to cover maternity leave.

Job summary
The Anaesthetic & Intensive Care Unit at the Kent & Canterbury Hospital is looking to recruit dynamic and forward-thinking individual to join our team of dedicated clinicians.
Our hospital undertakes all vascular surgery for East Kent, urological (including major cancer and robotic surgery) and elective orthopaedic surgery. A range of day surgical specialties are also represented, including: dental and maxillofacial surgery, ENT, general surgery (including paediatrics), ophthalmology, Interventional Radiology, MRI and endoscopy.
Emergency theatre cover is provided daily. Regional anaesthesia plays a major part in our service and we support sustainable anaesthetic principles - Kent & Canterbury Hospital provides critical care services in a six bedded Critical Care Unit and a four bedded, mainly post-surgical, HDU supported by dedicated Intensive Care Clinicians and Anaesthetists.
The Anaesthetic department and the Intensive Care Unit at Kent & Canterbury Hospital are active in education, audit and research.
Main duties of the job
This post is for a Locum Consultant Anaesthetist and Intensivist and will be based at Kent & Canterbury Hospital. The successful candidate will be responsible for delivering anaesthesia sessions with on-call commitments, with a requirement to cover ITU. Job plans within the department are flexible.
With this 11 PA position, there is 1 PA allocation for SPA.
It is anticipated that this job plan will include cover for paediatrics, vascular, endovascular, orthopaedic and urology lists, however, the job plan can be honed to reflect individual skills, knowledge and experience.

An exciting opportunity has arisen for enthusiastic and motivated individuals to join our Patient Services team as a Patient Services Assistant (PSA). Catering duties will be to provide a high standard of food and drink service to ward areas within Chesterfield Royal Hospital and Derwent Unit. We are excited to announce that we have been awarded funding from Health Education England to offer the opportunity to come and train with us at Sussex Partnership Foundation Trust (SPFT) as a Mental HealthWellbeing Practitioner (MHWP). Sussex Partnership is a mental health trust, offering care across Sussex to adults, older adults and children with mental health problems. The MHWP posts are new national roles based inour community mental health teams and our emotional wellbeing services (EWS). Those successful in the posts will be trained to offer psychologically-informed interventions to people in our community mental health teams,alongside our multi-disciplinary colleagues. Your will be part of our psychology and psychological therapies team, receiving high quality supervision and continued professional development and support. If you are successful in this post you will receive NHS funded training at Sussex University, and a salary with us at Sussex Partnership for the placement element of your training. The years training will then equip you to apply for qualified MHWP posts within our trust.
Please note, you cannot train or apply for another NHS England training (including clinical psychology training) within two years of taking on an MHWP role
Main duties of the job
There has been recent national recognition that MHWP posts can play a key role in the provision of psychological therapies in our community mental health teams. These are multi disciplinary teams that work with people in the community and you will be providing intensive short term therapeutic interventions within the context of the wider team.We will be offering a centralised recruitment process where candidates who are successfully shortlisted will be invited to a single interview.

We are delighted to advertise the opportunity to undertake a 12 month secondment/fixed term Specialist Practitioner Nutrition and Hydration Nurse or AHP. The Trust is looking for a clinician with significant experience working with patients with complex nutrition and hydration requirements. The postholder will support the successful implementation of the MCHFT Nutrition and Hydration 2025-2027 strategy.
Through leadership and dedicated quality improvement initiatives the postholder will support our Nutritional Ninja Champions in promoting quality nutritional and hydration standards across the Trust.
The post holder will develop and present nutrition and hydration assessment compliance data and drive the Trust in providing assurance that patients receive quality nutrition and hydration care whilst being cared for in MCHFT.
The post holder will work collaboratively with Dieticians, Nurses, Doctors Speech and Language therapists across all divisions and departments within hospital and community settings.
The post holder will support the ongoing review of policies and procedures together with supporting the development of any new policies/SOPs and Guidance that provide good governance around nutrition and hydration care.
