The purpose of this role is to provide an efficient and high standard of clerical service to the wards; to ensure that a welcoming and professional greeting is provided to patients and visitors; to ensure the smooth running of the admission and discharge process for patients on the wards and to ensure accurate and timely completion of unit data, booking of transport and other administrative tasks
Main duties of the job
The role of a ward clerk is to provide varied administrative support for the ward. Acting as a first point of contact in person or on the telephone for patients, relatives and visiting staff, welcoming them to the ward and dealing with any queries. Ensuring the electronic records for the patients are updated and dealing with any paperwork for their admission and discharge.
Full training for this post will be given.
The role of a ward clerk lends itself to individuals who like to use their initiative, those who enjoy working within a varied working environment and who thrive supporting and helping others. It is an exciting and busy role and would suit anyone with good hospital administration experience, can work to tight deadlines, has excellent customer service skills and can offer first class support to the team they will be working closely with.

Ensure adherence with the Data Protection Act and Trust procedures in respect of confidentiality and the patient record.
7. Ensure that information on overseas patients is entered accurately onto EPR and communicated to the Overseas team, to ensure appropriate charges are processed.
8. Support the ward staff with arranging discharges, liaising with all necessary teams and coordinating patient transport as appropriate. Ensure that follow-up appointments are booked if required.
9. Monitor that discharge letters are completed before patients leave the ward. Report weekly to duty consultant any that are not done within 24 hours of discharge.
10. Ensure that transport for any discharges is booked at least 24 hours an advance. Be a ward expert for transport booking ensuring that the nursing staff are able to book and check journeys.
11. Undertake surveys/audits as requested by the Ward Manager.
12. Provide cover for other ward clerks during periods of leave and absence.
13. To participate in the induction and training of new members of staff within the team

Are you an organised, immediately available administrator with excellent database skills? We have a short-term project focused on managing essential Disclosure and Barring Service (DBS) checks.
We are seeking a highly efficient and motivated DBS Administrator to join our team on a temporary fixed-term contract until the end of October. You will play a vital role in coordinating the administration of our mandatory DBS check project, ensuring all records are up to date and compliance is maintained across the Trust.
The team works on a hybrid working pattern and you must be able to come into the office at least once a week. This may include other days dependent on team needs.

Main duties of the job
As the DBS Project Administrator, you will be responsible for the full range of administrative and coordination tasks, including:

Job summary
An exciting opportunity has arisen for an enthusiastic and motivated Band 6 Deputy Sister/Charge Nurse to join our Paediatric Critical Careteam.
Band 6 Deputy Sister/Charge Nurse posts provide the opportunity to include rostered shifts across PCCU, Outreach and Retrieval services as negotiated between the post holder/Senior Nursing Team, and on completion of appropriate competencies.
Post holders will be expected to work a minimum of 23hrs per week across days, nights and weekend shifts.
Main duties of the job
- To provide clinical leadership ensuring a high standard of individualised nursing and family centred care is delivered to critically ill children.
- To work as a member of a multi-disciplinary team, communicating effectively with all levels of medical and nursing staff.
- To uphold PCCU's Nursing Philosophy of Care.
- To effectively manage PCCU on a day-to-day basis, in the absence of a Senior Sister/Charge Nurse.
Senior Nurses within PCCUat Band 6 and above have the opportunity to work across the retrieval and outreach services in addition to PCCU on a roster basis on completion of appropriate competencies.

This advert is for 4 Senior Clinical Fellow posts. These posts are to run from 1st of August 2026 for 12 months until the 31st of July 2027.
Applications are invited from outstanding surgical candidates with FRCS(Orth) or equivalent for the post of Clinical Fellow, The Spinal Service, Oxford University Hospitals NHSFT, Oxford. This post are suitable for surgeons who have completed their specialist registrar training (post CCT is desirable) and are seeking experience in spinal surgery prior to obtaining a consultant appointment and are available from August 2025.
The Fellowship will rotate between 2 pairs of clinical teams to be discussed at interview regarding training preference. The full range of spinal surgical experience is available with surgical subspecialties including early onset scoliosis, adult deformity, all acute spinal presentations, degenerative spinal pathologies including MIS, spinal sarcoma and metastatic disease. Training and service delivery will occur across the three main OUH hospital sites.
We expect successful candidates to have their own surgical loupes (recommended 3x magnification with extended field) when they start in post. Training with the microscope will also be available.

Are you an experienced and highly skilled clinician with a passion for improving outcomes for people living with frailty? We are seeking a motivated Advanced Clinical Practitioner (ACP) to join our dynamic Integrated Frailty Liaison Team.
This is an exciting opportunity to play a key role in delivering high-quality, patient-centred care across the Frimley Health and Care Integrated Care System (ICS), supporting the most vulnerable members of our community.
This role is fixed term until June 2027.
About the RoleAs a Frailty ACP, you will spend the majority of your time (minimum 90%) in direct, autonomous clinical practice, managing a cohort of patients with complex frailty needs. You will work across organisational boundaries to provide seamless, coordinated care that promotes independence, prevents unnecessary hospital admissions, and supports timely discharge.
You will also provide clinical leadership and support to colleagues, helping to shape and develop the service in line with best practice and local population needs.
About the ServiceThe Integrated Frailty Liaison Team delivers a responsive, safe and effective service, designed around the needs of the local community. Working collaboratively across acute, community and primary care settings, the team focuses on:
- Urgent and proactive case management
- Supporting self-care and independence
- Delivering a co-produced approach with patients, carers and service users
- Reducing avoidable admissions and improving patient flow
Main duties of the job
- To work alongside the Consultant Practitioner, Consultant Geriatricians, Head of Nursing, Lead Nurses, Head of Therapies, Matrons and external partners to further develop Frailty pathways, including the acute Frailty service in ED, inpatient frailty liaison, community integrated care teams, nursing homes and with the Frimley Health and Care ICS.
- To provide expert high-quality person-centred care which always considers people's safety, privacy and dignity using advanced clinical knowledge that is evidence based.
- As part of a MDT, to practice autonomously, whilst being accountable and self-directed in-line with their relevant code of professional practice.
- To undertake Comprehensive specialist holistic assessments for individuals presenting with frailty within the acute care setting, with the purpose of creating an individualised agreed management plan; incorporating pharmacological considerations, long-term conditions management, frailty syndrome identification, prevention and management, diagnostic reasoning and initiating onward referral to specialist teams as appropriate.
- To provide expert clinical advice, leadership and support ensuring the needs of the service are met by exercising and demonstrating high levels of clinical judgement, critical analysis and advanced decision-making skills.

Job summary
This post offers an exciting opportunity to join a highly motivated team of clinicians providing high quality sexual health and HIV care as part of one of the largest sexual health services in the country.The post holder is required to provide face to face clinics at both Buryfields Clinic as well as Woking Clinic.

We are seeking to appoint a part time assistant patient pathway administrator to join our friendly team within Ophthalmology. The post will be based at the John Radcliffe Hospital in the West Wing.
This post is crucial to the on-going development of the Ophthalmology service and would suit a candidate who has excellent organisational and communication skills. You will be expected to liaise with staff and colleagues at all levels. You will have proven administration skills with the ability to prioritise and manage your own workload to tight deadlines. You will need to demonstrate initiative and flexibility in your approach and be able to work in a pressurised and busy environment. The successful candidate will also manage each patients pathway in a timely and efficient manner.

Main duties of the job
Key roles include:
- Delivery of high-quality pharmaceutical care to adult cancer in-patients, day-case, and out-patients.
- Participation in pharmacy services to the Day Treatment Unit to optimise patients' understanding towards medications and reduce medicines wastage.
- Clinically screening and checking of systemic anticancer treatments (SACTs), SACT clinical trial treatments and supportive medication prescriptions.
- Participating in multidisciplinary meeting and ward rounds

Job summary
This is an exciting opportunity to take on a central role in supporting the effective flow and discharge of children and young people across paediatric critical care services at Oxford University Hospitals NHS Foundation Trust and across the wider Paediatric Critical Care Operational Delivery Network.
Working across the Trust, the BOB Integrated Care System, and regional networks, you will coordinate patient pathways to ensure safe, timely transitions between services, including step-down care, repatriation, and discharge home. A key focus of the role is managing complex and long-stay discharges, working closely with multidisciplinary teams, community services, and external partners to achieve the best outcomes for patients and families.
You will act as a consistent point of contact throughout the patient journey, helping to maintain clear communication and well-coordinated plans, particularly in more complex or sensitive situations. Alongside this, you will contribute to improving patient flow processes and discharge pathways, supporting service development and quality improvement initiatives.
We are looking for a proactive and organised paediatric nurse with experience in complex care and strong communication skills. This role would suit someone who enjoys collaborative working, problem solving, and making a practical difference to patient experience across the whole system.
Main duties of the job
The post holder will lead, coordinate, and optimise patient flow and discharge pathways for children and young people across OUHFT, the BOB Integrated Care System (ICS) and the Thames Valley & Wessex Paediatric Critical Care Operational Delivery Network (TVW PCC ODN).
They will support safe, timely transitions between Paediatric Critical Care (PCC) Levels 1, 2, and 3, neonatal to paediatric care, and paediatric to adult services. The role includes responsibility for managing complex and long-stay discharges, working across organisational boundaries, and providing expert clinical leadership to improve experience, safety, and continuity of care for children, young people, and families.
The post holder will act as the system-wide coordinator for flow between regional Level 2 units, Designated District General Hospitals, community teams, and home settings, ensuring the right child is in the right place at the right time.
