Job summary
This is a 0.5 whole time equivalent consultant psychiatrist post within the Counselling and Mental Health Support Service at King's College London. It supports psychiatric assessment, advice, risk formulation and treatment planning for students with complex mental health needs, working in close partnership with the King's CMHS multidisciplinary team, King's Health Centre, GPs and statutory NHS services.
Main duties of the job
This is an opportunity to provide consultant psychiatric input into a large, complex and specialist university mental health service. The post holder will work alongside established clinical and managerial leaders in CMHS and will provide senior psychiatric assessment, advice, risk formulation, treatment planning and consultation for students whose needs are beyond short-term counselling alone and who are not open to, or are being transferred into or out of, secondary mental health services.
The post holder will support the safe and effective interface between the university service, primary care, NHS mental health services and other statutory or voluntary services. They will contribute to the development and review of psychiatry referral pathways, multidisciplinary working, clinical governance, audit, service development and staff consultation on matters related to student mental health.
About us
The Counselling and Mental Health Support Service is a free and confidential service that provides highly specialised counselling, mental health support and advice to King's College London students. Students are often in distress and require sensitive and timely access to psychological and mental health support. The service is a key part of the university's wider wellbeing and safeguarding structures and works collaboratively across departments and services to ensure that students receive timely and effective support.
The service sits within the Students and Education Directorate, a collection of professional services that support King's students and their education. The Directorate manages the student lifecycle from application to graduation and beyond, seeking a coherent and seamless student experience and effective administrative processes, working closely with King's faculties.
Clinical interfaces
The CMHS psychiatry pathway interfaces with King's Health Centre, students' own GPs, NHS psychiatric liaison teams, home treatment teams, community mental health teams, inpatient mental health services, specialist CAMHS or adult services and other relevant statutory, charitable and non-profit organisations. Active communication with students, referrers, family or support networks where consent and confidentiality allow, and external clinical teams is central to safe and effective care.

Reference: 2336298
Job summary
We are recruiting a maternity cover Band 7 CAMHS Clinician to work within the Adolescent Mental Health Team in Newham.
We are looking for an enthusiastic, experienced and motivated Qualified Mental Health Clinician (such as a Clinical Psychologist, Registered Mental Health Nurse or Family therapist) to work in an established MDT within a busy and diverse Child and Adolescent Mental Health Service. The post holder should have both expertise and a passion for working with adolescents and their families and for working with complex mental heath difficulties.
As a care coordinator within the AMHT, the post holder will support the care of adolescents with complex, and often risky, mental health presentations such as first-episode psychosis, severe depression, emotional dysregulation and complex trauma.
As well as appealing to qualified mental health clinicians currently working within community CAMHS settings, this post may appeal to those not already working in community CAMHS who wish to develop new skills and therapeutic approaches.
Main duties of the job
The AMHT is a well functioning multi-disciplinary team within Newham CAMHS. The team is composed of Psychiatrists, Mental Health Nurse, a Systemic Family Therapist, a Clinical Psychologist, an Occupational Therapist and Child & Adolescent Psychotherapy. It is commissioned to provide early intervention in psychosis (EIS) for 13 to 18 year olds as well as to offer mental health care to young people presenting with high risk of severe life threatening self-harm.
The team model includes joint working as well as individual working with young people and their families. The team offers a range of interventions including therapeutic care coordination, systemic family therapy, individual therapy (CBT, psychoanalytical psychotherapy, narrative therapy) and psychiatric support. The team works within a Care Pathway model of service delivery within a multidisciplinary framework, holding weekly MDT meetings where all high risk cases are discussed. It incorporates a developmental approach in its formulation of young people's presentation and an understanding of adolescent personality development. Due to the nature and severity of their mental health difficulties, young people are often engaged in longer-term interventions with the team.
Line management and professional supervision will be provided from within the team.
About us
Our mission is to make a positive difference to people's lives by improving the quality of life for all we serve. Our values are: We Care, We Respect, We are Inclusive - so we are looking for people who live and breathe these qualities when supporting service users and carers, and in their relationships with colleagues in the Trust and our partner organisations.

Job summary
We're excited to launch an innovative Healthy Ageing Frailty / Same Day Emergency Care (SDEC) model based at Newton Abbot Community Hospital. This service provides rapid assessment and same-day management for adults living with frailty, helping to prevent unnecessary hospital admissions and support people to remain well in their own communities.
As an Advanced Clinical Practitioner (ACP), you'll work autonomously across the four pillars of advanced practice--clinical, leadership/management, education, and research--to deliver safe, person-centred care. You'll play a key role in developing this evolving pathway and supporting the wider multidisciplinary team (MDT) to embed best practice and innovation.
We're seeking experienced clinicians who have, or are working towards, a Master's in Advanced Clinical Practice (or recognised NHSE portfolio route). You'll be confident in complex clinical decision-making and thrive within a supportive governance framework that values professional development, collaboration, and continuous improvement.
Advanced Clinical Assessment & Decision-Making Undertake comprehensive patient assessments, including detailed history taking and holistic physical and mental health examinations. Request and interpret investigations, and formulate evidence-based management plans, prescribe and deprescribe, working within a clearly defined scope of practice and with appropriate senior support.
Main duties of the job
- SDEC / Hospital at Home Pathway Delivery Deliver timely same-day assessments and interventions to prevent unnecessary hospital admissions. Coordinate seamless transitions between the Same Day Emergency Care (SDEC), Virtual Ward, community teams, and primary care to ensure continuity of care.
- Leadership Across the Pathway Provide visible clinical leadership during daily huddles and multidisciplinary team (MDT) discussions. Act as a specialist resource for colleagues, supporting safe and efficient patient flow and contributing to continuous pathway improvement.
- Education & Supervision Support learning and development across the MDT through teaching, coaching, and supervision. Guide students and trainees, and contribute to the delivery and development of competency and capability frameworks within frailty and urgent care services.
- Quality, Research & Service Improvement Lead or participate in audit, evaluation, and quality improvement projects to embed bestpractice and drive innovation. Contribute to evidence-based service development and professional outputs through your Supporting Professional Activities (SPA) time (anticipated 80:20 clinical-to-SPA split, adjusted to meet service needs).
About us
You'll join Torbay and South Devon NHS Foundation Trust, an integrated care organisation delivering acute, community and adult social care.
The Healthy Ageing team works across settings with a strong improvement culture, supportive supervision and multi-professional learning.
We value compassionate leadership, personalised care ("What matters to you"), and shared decision-making--backed by robust clinical governance and staff development.
