Job summary
As an Ophthalmic Technician you will work within the ophthalmology department and community-based diagnostic hubs to provide clinical and technical services. You will work under the direction of the ophthalmic technical service manager, lead ophthalmic technicians & senior ophthalmic technicians to assist in the diagnosis, treatment and care of new and follow-up patients.
The postholder will be based at both Good Hope Hospital and Solihull Hospital sites, but will also be required to work at Birmingham Heartlands Hospital and Queen Elizabeth Hospital.
Main duties of the job
You will safely and effectively use of a range of highly complex expensive diagnostic instruments, adhering to defined protocols and guidelines. You will report diagnostic test results to ophthalmologists and professional staff, and adapt tests to the ability of patients.
You will need to be able to accommodate variable clinical hours and schedules, ranging between four hospital sites and community-based settings, including evening and weekend hours.
You will be required to work autonomously and within a close-knit team, and contribute to the smooth running of the department and provision of diagnostic services. Also, you will be expected to recommend improvements and changes to departmental policies, guidelines and protocols at departmental meetings. Maintain personal knowledge and skills undertaking training and development as required.

We are looking for a motivated and experienced Advanced Clinical Practitioner to work within our Frail Elderly Assessment Team (FEAT). This is an exciting opportunity to deliver high quality patient-centered care to frail patients in their own homes and in our care homes.

Job summary
We are seeking an Occupational Therapy Associate Practitioner to work under the supervision of a Specialist Occupational Therapist and provide interventions on the in-patient unit and in the community. The post would be suitable for a confident and enthusiastic Band 4 (or an experienced Band 3 who is ready to progress), to join the learning disability Intensive Support Team multi-disciplinary team. Integrated Discharge at Imperial College Healthcare NHS Trust has as an exciting opportunity within the Charing Cross Integrated Discharge Team. We are looking for an experienced, self -motivated, passionate and dedicated individual to join our Hospital Discharge team within the acute setting.

Job summary
University Hospitals Derby & Burton are looking to recruit two experienced Vascular Scientists or Sonographers to support the renovation of our vascular science service. We are ambitious to expand services and establish Royal Derby Hospital as a centre for Vascular Science excellence in teaching and research. Your role would support normal operations alongside developing our research and training capacity. You would liaise with different services within the team as well as at Trust level to include research and audit.
Our current team consists of a Lead Clinical Vascular Scientist, an experienced Vascular Physiologist, and three experienced locum Clinical Vascular Scientists - housed within the wider and friendly Clinical Measurement team in Royal Derby Hospital. We have two Philips EPIQ Elite ultrasound machines in dedicated air-conditioned rooms, with a portable Philips Affiniti 70 for attending wards and TIA Clinic.
The ideal applicant will be a CSVS Accredited Vascular Scientist or an experienced Vascular Science STP graduate, however experienced Vascular Sonographers and recent graduates of the STP & other CASE-Accredited Vascular Ultrasound/Science courses are encouraged to apply. Consideration would be given to candidates who may require additional training and support with the possibility of a developmental Band 6 to Band 7 post.
Main duties of the job
Having a proven track record, you will be expected to perform a wide range of vascular investigations, including carotid and temporal artery scans, upper and lower limb arterial and venous duplex scans, AAA and graft surveillance scans. Having the ability to independently report your own scans as well as being able to review and comment on the scans of others is an important part of the role. Non-imaging tests such as ABPI are also performed. In addition, you will also be expected to provide teaching, audit and supervisory support. We actively encourage continuous professional development within the dept.
The vascular ultrasound service is expanding to provide vascular imaging services to other hospitals within the Trust; cross-site working is already in place for many of our other specialties therefore this is also predicted for vascular ultrasound. This post will also involve some weekend on-call work on a rota basis, providing imaging for the 7 day TIA service.
In addition, you will also be expected to provide teaching, participate in research, audit and supervisory support.
Cross-site working is already in place for many of our other specialties within the department; we have ambitions for the vascular ultrasound service to follow suit at some point.

Our specialist team supports adults with learning disabilities to achieve the best outcomes by assessing and managing communication needs and eating, drinking and swallowing difficulties (dysphagia). In addition to providing expert assessment and tailored care plans, we deliver regular dysphagia training to support carers and professionals, with plans to further develop and expand this area of the service.

Main duties of the job
The post holder will provide medical leadership and specialist psychiatric care across an all-age learning disability service, supporting children, young people and adults with learning disabilities who present with complex mental health needs, autism, behaviours that challenge, dementia and other neurodevelopmental conditions. Job summary
In this rewarding scrub role, you will work alongside an experienced multidisciplinary team to provide safe, high-quality perioperative care for children and young people undergoing complex surgical procedures. You will help prepare the theatre environment, support the surgical team throughout each procedure and ensure that every child and family receives individualised, evidence-based and family-centred care.
You will be a registered nurse with the Nursing and Midwifery Council or an Operating Department Practitioner registered with the Health and Care Professions Council. Previous scrub or perioperative experience would be welcomed, but we also value your ability to learn, develop and apply your transferable clinical skills. Experience within paediatric surgery is desirable but not essential as you will be given training and support by the perioperative team to develop new skills to equip you in the paediatric setting.You should have effective communication and organisational skills, sound clinical judgement and a commitment to working as part of a diverse team. You will be expected to communicate sensitively with children and families, contribute to safe decision-making and remain calm and focused in a highly specialised clinical environment.
Main duties of the job
You willbe an integral part of our multidisciplinary theatre team, providing safe, high-quality and family-centred perioperative care to children undergoing a wide range of planned, urgent and emergency procedures. Working primarily within the scrub/circulating role, you will contribute to excellent surgical care and maintain the highest standards of patient safety and aseptic practice. You will be supported to develop your clinical expertise and, as your experience and competencies progress, take on greater responsibility, including coordinating theatre activity and leading the team in the absence of senior staff.

An exciting opportunity has arisen for a full time position as a Medical Laboratory Assistant / Healthcare Science Assistant.
You will support the Biomedical Scientists and microbiology team in providing a clinical technical service to achieve efficient and effective patient care. Working as part of a team, to carry out the receipt, booking-in, processing and testing of specimens to provide a diagnostic microbiology service. Previous experience in laboratories is essential.
You will be working in a team of 26 Biomedical Scientists, 6 Associate Practitioners and 24 MLAs, to process approx. 500,000 microbiology requests per annum.
Main duties of the job
- To work in an effective and efficient way following the appropriate Trust and directorate policies, procedures and guidelines including the departmental Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs).
- Prepares and processes patient specimens.
- Prepares urine samples for microscopy.
- Prepares mycology specimens for sendaway.
- Inoculates patient specimen onto culture media for incubation.
- Separates blood samples and sets up tests.
- Prepares chlamydia specimens for immunoassay machine
- Selects single colonies and inoculates test cards for processing through the VITEK identification machine.
- Perform specimen reception tasks including entering accurately patient/specimen details onto the departmental computer system maintaining a valid database.

Working across both strategic and operational activity, you will champion the voice of lived experience and help ensure that services are shaped by the people who use them.
You will:
- Champion the voice of people with lived experience across Working Age Adults Mental Health services (Social Care).
- Design and support engagement and co-production activities that shape future services.
- Work alongside senior leaders to influence strategy, commissioning and transformation programmes.
- Build effective relationships with people who access services, unpaid carers, voluntary sector organisations and community groups and partner agencies.
- Gather and analyse feedback and insight to inform service improvement.

An exciting opportunity has become available to join SCAS as an Dispatch Support Assistant.
We would be looking for successful candidates to start on our 18th January 2027 course in Bicester.
Dispatch Support Assistants are a vital link between a medical emergency taking place and help arriving at the scene. The Dispatch Support Assistant works as part of a team, assigning ambulance resources to emergency and urgent events whilst liaising with emergency call takers, ambulance crews and other emergency services.
No one day is like the last. You will be dealing with medical emergencies, traumatic events and major incidents; prioritising your workload and ensuring patients receive the right response, first time, every time.

Main duties of the job
As an Dispatch Support Assistant based in Bicester, Oxfordshire, you will assist your team in assigning ambulance resources to patients. You will use radio, text, telephone and computer aided dispatch systems to communicate with ambulance crews, ensuring they have the details and resources they need to treat the patients they are attending.
Working as an Dispatch Support Assistant role will expose you to a range of emergency incidents. You could be assigning an ambulance to a patient who has fallen or sending multiple resources to a cardiac arrest. You will need to think logically and tactically as you manage a workload that changes by the second. It is essential that you are able to multitask and manage tasks with competing priorities.

Main duties of the job
Build positive, trusting relationships with children and young people.
Provide overnight supervision, ensuring children and young people feel safe, supported and secure throughout the night.
Complete regular welfare checks and maintain accurate records and reports.
Support young people to develop independence, routines and resilience.
Work as part of a multi-disciplinary team to deliver therapeutic care plans.
Promote safeguarding, wellbeing and positive outcomes.
Help create a safe, nurturing and stable home environment.

Child and AdolescentMental Health Service (CAMHS) is part of the East London NHS Foundation Trust & provides community-based services for children and young people with mental health problems across TH. The services are made up of various multi-disciplinary teams including the following teams; Triage Team, Neurodevelopment Team, Emotional and Behavioral Team, Complex Needs Team and Mental Health Schools Team.

To provide front of house/reception cover and general administration to all CAMHS clinicians and managers, and their teams.
The post holder will be required to work in a busy and demanding environment and should be able to work without direct supervision and to exercise initiative. The ability to multi-task is also essential.

An exciting opportunity has become available to join SCAS as an Dispatch Support Assistant.
We would be looking for successful candidates to start on our 25th January 2027 course in Otterbourne.
Dispatch Support Assistants are a vital link between a medical emergency taking place and help arriving at the scene. The Dispatch Support Assistant works as part of a team, assigning ambulance resources to emergency and urgent events whilst liaising with emergency call takers, ambulance crews and other emergency services.
No one day is like the last. You will be dealing with medical emergencies, traumatic events and major incidents; prioritising your workload and ensuring patients receive the right response, first time, every time.
This is a highly pressurised and quick moving role where you will need to keep a calm and level-headed approach.
Please note: This role does not support remote working. You will need to be available to work from our Emergency Operations Centre in Otterbourne, Hampshire.

As an Dispatch Support Assistant based in Otterbourne, Hampshire, you will assist your team in assigning ambulance resources to patients. You will use radio, text, telephone and computer aided dispatch systems to communicate with ambulance crews, ensuring they have the details and resources they need to treat the patients they are attending.
Working as an Dispatch Support Assistant role will expose you to a range of emergency incidents. You could be assigning an ambulance to a patient who has fallen or sending multiple resources to a cardiac arrest.
