Job summary
Burney Street Practice is looking for a friendly, organised and motivated Medical Receptionist & Administrator to join our busy and supportive GP practice team.
This is a varied role combining front-of-house patient services with essential administrative duties. You will be one of the first points of contact for our patients, both face-to-face and over the telephone, and will work closely with our clinical and administrative teams to help ensure the smooth day-to-day running of the practice.
Previous GP practice or healthcare experience would be an advantage; however, we also welcome applications from candidates with strong reception, customer service or administrative experience who are enthusiastic, quick to learn and keen to develop within General Practice.
This is an ideal opportunity for someone who enjoys working with people, thrives in a busy and varied environment and would like to become a valued member of an established primary care team.
Main duties of the job
The role involves providing a friendly, efficient reception and administrative service to patients, visitors and the wider practice team.
Main duties include welcoming and assisting patients, answering telephone calls, managing appointments, responding to queries and signposting patients to the appropriate clinician or service.
Administrative responsibilities include processing correspondence, scanning and filing documents, updating patient records and registrations, supporting patient recalls and QOF work, and completing tasks delegated by clinical and non-clinical colleagues.
The successful candidate will work across both practice sites and will need to be organised, flexible and able to manage a varied workload in a busy General Practice environment.
About us
