Main duties of the job
Deliver expert physiotherapy assessment, treatment, and ongoing management of cardiothoracic and critically ill patients. Provide specialist respiratory physiotherapy interventions for patients with complex respiratory conditions. Support the management of patients requiring Level 3 critical care, including mechanically ventilated patients. Work collaboratively within the multidisciplinary team to optimise patient outcomes and support safe, effective care delivery. Assess and manage patients with advanced airway and complex respiratory care requirements. Lead and contribute to evidence-based rehabilitation programmes for critically ill patients. Participate in the respiratory on-call rota, providing expert out-of-hours support and ensuring continuity of care.

Who we are looking for:
- Degree or equivalent qualification in Physiotherapy with current HCPC registration with no restrictions or conditions.
- Post-registration experience within cardiothoracic and critical care physiotherapy.
- Experience managing critically ill patients within an Intensive Care Unit (ICU) setting.
- Demonstrable expertise in the treatment of mechanically ventilated patients.
- Advanced respiratory physiotherapy skills, including management of complex respiratory conditions.
- Experience in difficult airway management and specialist respiratory care.
- Strong clinical reasoning, assessment, and decision-making skills.
- A commitment to evidence-based practice and high-quality patient care.
- Excellent communication and multidisciplinary team working abilities.
- Willingness to participate in the respiratory on-call rota.

An exciting opportunity has been developed to join the Geriatric Medicine Department based at UHW working within our acute inpatient wards. We are currently developing our acute frailty pathway to ensure older patients that present to UHW have timely access to comprehensive geriatric assessment (CGA) alongside treatment for their acute condition and this post will enable us to deliver excellent care for older people through their admission journey.
Main duties of the job
We have a long-embedded team based at the 'front door' of the hospital to prevent unnecessary admission of older people, alongside and Older Person's Acute Medical Unit to ensure those that need a short stay can access frailty attuned care. We plan to further enhance this pathway by ensure those that need a longer stay have access to further specialist care and are re-designing the services across our inpatient wards to support this. This speciality doctor post has been created to provide robust support and continuity for the care of patients that are cared for in this pathway.
The successful candidate will be based one of our specialist geriatric medicine inpatient wards. The post holder will work alongside consultant geriatrician, resident doctors and a wider MDT to support the routine care of older inpatients and delivery of Comprehensive Geriatric Assessment in this area.

After a restructure of the Echo department at Harrogate District hospital we are looking for BSE Level 2 Accredited Highly Specialised Echocardiographer(s). Part-time and flexible working proposals will be considered. We are a District general hospital with a busy Cardiology service providing a wide range of investigations including physiologist led Stress echo, valve clinic and contrast.

Full training and support will be given in advanced techniques including strain and 4D.

In addition you will undertake more complex duties including phlebotomy, accessing PICC, Hickman lines and Port-a-Caths, performing cannulation, phlebotomy, ECG's, bladder scanning, swabbing and basic dressings. If you have experience of providing great customer services, then this is the role for you.
This vacancy is for 22.5 hours a week a fixed term until September 2027.
We would support a secondment from an internal candidate, but you must have approval from your manager prior to applying.
Candidates must be able to work a 24/7 shift pattern that includes a mixture of shifts seven days a week. Shift types include Long Day 1 (06:30 to 18:45), Long Day 2 (08:30 to 20:45), Night (18:30 to 06:45) and a Float Shift, which typically runs from 08:30 to 16:30 but may be adjusted slightly to meet service needs. There is also an option to split a long day with a colleague; however, this is an ad hoc local arrangement and cannot be guaranteed.
Successful candidates will commence at Band 2 and once appropriate in-house training has been completed will progress to a Band 3. Training typically takes up to 12 weeks but may be completed sooner depending on previous experience.
Please note - remote interviews will not be an option, only face to face interviews.
Main duties of the job
This is a busy and varied role and in addition to answering calls, part of the role involves retrieving patient case notes, predominantly from the in-house Library but also from other departments or offices within the hospital.
We are looking for individuals whohave fantastic communication skills to work in this busy, challenging and rewarding environment.They must have a clear telephone voice, be computer literate, used to working under pressure and able to switch between tasks quickly and efficiently.
This role will commence at Band 2 whilst undergoing a supervised training period of up to 12 weeks within Switchboard to gain the administrative and technical experience required for the role. It may be possible for candidates to complete the training sooner dependent upon previous relevant experience.Upon successful completion of the In-house Training Programme, performance measures and they have demonstrated appropriate working practices based on Trust Values and behaviours, the post holder will then move to a permanent Band 3 post.

Job summary
The post holder will be responsible for providing a fit testing service for all staff that may be required to wear tight fitting respirators (re-usable or single use) as part of the job. The post holder will be fully trained for both the qualitative and quantitative fit testing methods. The post holder will need to have excellent customer care to provide professional, reliable and consistent service. The post holder ensures staff compliance with HSE INDG 479 by coordinating Trust-wide fit testing for respirators (reusable and disposable masks) using qualitative and quantitative methods. Key responsibilities include:
- Organizing and prioritizing fit testing across wards and directorates.
- Recording and reviewing fit testing outcomes to identify staff needing retesting or testing on new masks.
- Maintaining fit testing equipment and ensuring sufficient stock.
- Training staff on mask fit checking and supporting Infection Control initiatives.

Trainee Clinical Respiratory Physiologist (Band 4)
The post of Trainee Clinical Respiratory Physiologist is an exciting opportunity for an individual whose ambition is to become a Clinical Respiratory Physiologist. Our Respiratory Physiology Department undertake a wide variety of tests including routine and complex lung function, sleep and ventilation. You will be provided high quality in-house and external training with the opportunity for progression to Band 5 and Band 6 Respiratory Physiologist grades, upon successfully completion of, and gaining competency in, incremental training goals.
You will be self motivated and have excellent interpersonal skills. You will have the ability to work under pressure and at times autonomously, as well as be able to work effectively within a team..
The post requires cross-site working (Luton and Dunstable Hospital and Bedford Hospital). You must have a BSc degree Human Physiology or Sports Science or equivalent and ideally relevant NHS healthcare experience.

Main duties of the job
Main Tasks & Responsibilities:
1. To train to become proficient in performing the physiological tests listed below.
2. To perform all relevant quality control procedures within the department.

4. Sterilise and disinfect all departmental equipment as and when necessary using correct guidelines set out by the trust.

The post holder will provide a comprehensive, high-quality and efficient medical secretarial and clinic coordination service to consultants, specialist nurses and other members of the multidisciplinary team.
Working as an integral member of the clinical service, the post holder will support the effective management of patient pathways, outpatient clinics, referrals, clinical correspondence and associated administrative processes. The role requires a high degree of organisation, accuracy and initiative, with the ability to manage competing priorities and work independently within agreed Trust policies and procedures.
The post holder will act as an important point of contact between patients, relatives, clinicians, General Practitioners, allied health professionals, other Trust departments and external organisations. Working as an integral member of the clinical service, the post holder will support the effective management of patient pathways, outpatient clinics, referrals, clinical correspondence and associated administrative processes. An exciting opportunity has arisen for a Band 6 clinician to join our Children in Care and Care Leavers team in Bradford.
The post holder will work as part of a district-wide health team delivering the statutory health assessment service and promoting strategies to improve health outcomes for children in care.

We are looking for a Specialist Public Health Nurse who demonstrates strong competence, judgement, integrity and personal accountability, and who will advocate effectively for the children and young people in their care. An exciting opportunity for an experienced & motivated Digital Optimisation Senior Co-ordinator to join the Digital Transformation team at Oxleas NHS Foundation Trust.
This key role will support the delivery of digital, organisational & behavioural change across the Trust's mental health, community, forensic & prison services. Working closely with clinical, operational, digital & data colleagues, the post holder will lead projects that improve clinical & operational processes, maximise the benefits of digital technologies & support the delivery of Trust priorities.
The role will be responsible for leading large-scale digital transformation & optimisation projects from discovery & planning through to implementation, adoption & benefits realisation. Project complexity may be determined by factors such as organisational impact, project value, duration, number of workstreams & system integrations.
The role requires excellent project management, stakeholder engagement & change management skills, with the ability to work collaboratively across professional groups & influence sustainable improvements in ways of working.
Based at Pinewood House, the role offers agile working, with a minimum of 2 office days per week. Travel to other Trust sites & external locations will be required in line with service & project requirements.
Main duties of the job
This is a key role within Digital Services, involving close collaboration with digital, operational and clinical colleagues across the Trust. The post holder will engage with a wide range of internal and external stakeholders to support the successful delivery and adoption of digital transformation programmes.
Key responsibilities will include:
- Supporting the redesign and optimisation of clinical and operational systems, processes and ways of working.
- Advising on the development and use of the Trust's clinical information systems.
- Leading change management and user engagement activities to embed new technologies and working practices.
- Developing project documentation, business cases, benefits realisation plans and governance papers for consideration through the Clinical Design Authority (CDA) and other Trust forums.
- Researching and evaluating emerging digital technologies and identifying opportunities to improve patient care, staff experience and operational efficiency.

Management Responsibilities
- In conjunction with the Ward Manager, is responsible for effective organisation of the ward/department.
- Be aware of and adhere to the Shift Leader Responsibilities as per the Trusts Standards for Practice and Care.

- In conjunction with the Ward Manager, is responsible for effective organisation of the ward/department.
- Be aware of and adhere to the Shift Leader Responsibilities as per the Trusts Standards for Practice and Care.
- Ensure the safe custody and administration of drugs in accordance with established procedure and the law.
- Ensure safe use of equipment, ascertaining that staff are competent to operate the equipment and that the equipment is in safe working order. Keep a training log complying with Trust and CNST requirements detailing staff trainers and the equipment which individual staff have been trained in and are competent to use.
- Understand the implications of the Health and Safety at Work Act, and maintain a safe environment for patients, visitors and staff according to the hospitals Health and Safety Policy.
- Report and record accidents/incidents and complaints to the Ward Manager, according to the Trust policy and undertake further investigations as directed.
- Be competent in current emergency resuscitation techniques, both in theory and practice.
- Have a working knowledge of the fire regulations and procedures, ensuring appropriate action is taken in response to an emergency.
- In conjunction with the Ward Manager, maintain budgetary control through an efficient and effective use of resources.
