Job summary
Are you passionate about developing the next generation of doctors and healthcare professionals? Join our Clinical Skills Education Team in this established role supporting undergraduate medical education within a busy teaching Trust.
As a Clinical Skills Tutor, you will plan, deliver and evaluate clinical skills teaching for medical students, working with Clinical Education colleagues and the University of Manchester. You will provide innovative, engaging learning experiences that prepare students for safe and effective clinical practice, including clinical skills teaching, simulation, assessment support and educational guidance across a range of disciplines.
We are seeking an enthusiastic healthcare professional with excellent communication and organisational skills and a passion for developing others. Previous teaching experience is desirable, but informal teaching, coaching or mentoring gained through clinical practice is valued. We will support your educational development within a welcoming and experienced team.
This is an excellent opportunity to shape the development of future doctors, share your clinical expertise and contribute to undergraduate medical education while building your own educational career.
Main duties of the job
As a Clinical Skills Tutor, you will plan, deliver and evaluate clinical skills education for undergraduate medical students, working with the Clinical Education Team and University of Manchester to develop students' knowledge, practical skills and professional behaviours for safe clinical practice.
The role includes clinical skills teaching, simulation and assessment, including core procedures such as venepuncture, cannulation and urinary catheterisation. You will maintain clinical competence to ensure teaching is current, evidence-based and high quality.
We seek an enthusiastic, approachable healthcare professional with excellent communication skills and a passion for developing others. You will be a positive role model, promote professionalism and compassionate care, and create an inclusive learning environment adapted to different levels of experience and confidence.
As part of a small, supportive team, you will work flexibly with colleagues throughout the academic year. Strong teamwork, organisation and adaptability are essential, including flexibility to support examinations and assessments, which may require changes to planned schedules.
Formal teaching experience is desirable but not essential; teaching, coaching or mentoring gained through clinical practice is valued. We will support your professional development and growth as an educator.
About us
You will join the Undergraduate Medical Education Team within the wider Clinical Education Team. We are a friendly, supportive and collaborative group, passionate about developing the future healthcare workforce. We work closely together, sharing knowledge, experience and workload to deliver high-quality education across the Trust.
We value a positive environment where colleagues contribute ideas, support one another and develop professionally through mentorship, shared learning and development opportunities. We recognise and value the different experiences and strengths individuals bring.
We seek individuals who share our values and demonstrate a positive, can-do attitude. As educators, we recognise the importance of role modelling and maintaining high professional standards. You will be approachable, enthusiastic and committed to creating a supportive learning environment while representing the Clinical Education Team and Trust positively.
In return, you will help educate future doctors, work alongside experienced educators and contribute to a team focused on innovation, collaboration and continuous improvement. Benefits include NHS staff benefits, flexible working where service needs allow, training and development opportunities, and the opportunity to support the Trust's ambition to become a leading teaching organisation and future University Teaching Hospital.

Senior Quality & Safety Manager – UEC & Flow MDT Lead
NHS Kent and Medway Integrated Care Board View all jobs
Posted 2 day(s) ago
Reference: 2377328
Job summary
This role supports delivery of the ICB's Four Layers of Care model -- the clinical model through which NHS Kent and Medway commissions and provides care across primary care, single neighbourhood, multi-neighbourhood and acute hospital settings. The post holder will ensure quality, safety and patient experience are embedded consistently as care moves across these layers, in line with the ICB's ambition to shift activity toward proactive, community-based care.
This post requires current, active registration with the NMC (as a Registered Nurse or Registered Midwife) or the HCPC as a Registered Physiotherapist. This is an essential, non-delegable requirement of the role: the post holder is required to exercise autonomous clinical judgement and professional accountability, under their regulatory body's Code, when assessing patient safety, quality and clinical risk in commissioned services, and this post cannot be undertaken by a person who does not hold such registration.
Main duties of the job
o The post holder will manage provider quality assurance and improvement at place and system level for the ICB, from a nominated portfolio, as part of a wider Quality Team.
o The post will take the role of Quality Lead in the Multi-Disciplinary Team (MDT) for Urgent and Emergency Care and Flow, which forms part of the foundation of our operating model, by promoting integrated decision-making and shared accountability. Collaboration is central to the way the ICB works across all teams and units, and this role will actively foster and enable effective partnership working across the organisation.
o The post holder will manage a robust process to gain assurance on the quality of the healthcare services, from their allocated work portfolio, commissioned by the ICB.
o The post holder will be responsible for assisting in the implementation of a quality assurance and improvement framework, informed by the National Quality Board Quality Risk and Escalation Framework.
o The post holder will ensure the robust application of a comprehensive monitoring framework for measuring and reporting on the quality of healthcare, preparing and overseeing the preparation of both internal and external reports.
o The post holder will manage the application of a robust reporting system for all commissioned services that provides data quality, system security and confidentiality at a level commensurate with NHS standards.
About us
We are committed to a culture that supports all staff at NHS Kent and Medway to be the best version of themselves.
Our ability to improve outcomes for our population depends on how effectively clinical, operational, financial and strategic professionals work together to make informed commissioning decisions. That's why our workforce works a minimum of two days-a-week on-site, with the expectation that all one-to-ones are held face-to-face and that colleagues will regularly visit the services we are commissioning to understand more about them.
We believe regular on-site working supports stronger collaboration, faster problem-solving, peer learning, visible leadership and the integration of colleagues into our organisation. We also know that culture is built through shared experiences and day-to-day interactions.
We are a flexible working friendly organisation; we aim to support you to work flexibly in a way that will suit you and us.
We work with staff to agree objectives through regular supervision, annual appraisal and access to training opportunities.
We are committed to equal opportunities and diversity. In order to reflect the diversity of our population, we positively encourage applications from all areas of the community regardless of gender, race, faith, disability, age or sexual orientation.

In return, you will join a team that values high-quality patient care, professional development and working together. If you enjoy using your nursing skills in a different way and want to be part of a supportive team, we'd love to hear from you.
Main duties of the job

You'll need to recognise when a patient requires urgent or emergency support, while also being confident providing advice, reassurance and self-care guidance where appropriate.
You'll work with a wide variety of patients and presentations, so every day will be different.
Although working independently within your clinical competence, there is always a GP working alongside who is available to provide clinical support and advice when needed.
The role requires someone who can work calmly and confidently, manage their workload effectively and maintain a consistently professional and patient-focused approach.
About us
Trinity Medical Centre is a busy and welcoming GP practice in the heart of Wakefield, with a branch site located at Sandal.
We have a friendly, approachable team who work closely together across different roles and services. We value teamwork, good communication and a positive working environment, where colleagues support one another and are encouraged to share their knowledge and experience.
Our Clinical Advisor team is an important part of the wider practice and works alongside GPs and other healthcare professionals. We aim to create an environment where you feel supported in your role, with access to experienced clinical colleagues when you need advice or guidance.
We are committed to ongoing learning and development and encourage our staff to build their skills and confidence. We also recognise the importance of listening to our team, welcoming ideas and continually looking for ways to improve our services.
If you're looking for a supportive workplace where you can be part of a friendly team, develop your professional skills and make a genuine difference to patients, we'd be delighted to hear from you.
