Job summary
Were looking for an experienced Quality and Risk Manager to join our Governance team based at The Harborne Hospital.
As the Quality and Risk Manager, you will lead on the implementation and delivery of a range of governance activities with a particular focus on risk, incidents and complaint investigations, whilst supporting The Harborne Hospital to meet the regulatory requirements of external standards and inspections.
The ideal candidate will be a specialist resource, using knowledge and experience of governance, with a particular focus on incident, complaint and risk management. This will include managing and coordinating investigations and learning responses of all incidents, which involves liaising with Heads of Department and the Senior Leadership Team.
Excellent communication and a proven ability to implement change, or new systems, are essential for the role. The ideal candidate will be dynamic, with excellent verbal and written communication skills and be experienced in clinical governance.
Main duties of the job
Responsibility for overseeing and implementing the incident management processes and applying the principles of PSIRF. This includes monitoring action plans and quality improvement work
To create and present reports to relevant Hospital committees, including trend analysis and advice for key stakeholders
Implementation and monitoring of the facility-wide Audit Programme including working with Heads of Department (HoD) to develop robust action plans that provide improvements to care and service delivered
Work with the HCA UK Corporate Clinical Services Department and local Heads of Departments (HoD) to ensure a standardised approach to CQC inspection compliance is maintained
Act as the Policy Controller and direct the policy reviewer where needed.
Responsibility for overseeing and implementing the risk management processes, including regular reviews of the departmental and facility risk register

This is a full time role working Monday to Friday, 8am to 4pm.
Main ResponsibilitiesIn this role, you will deliver specialist Occupational Therapy assessment and intervention for patients with stroke and a range of neurological conditions. You will support early discharge from hospital, ensuring patients receive the right care at the right time in the most appropriate setting. You will work across both the inpatient setting on Sapphire Ward and within patients homes, supporting rehabilitation in real life environments. This approach allows you to make a meaningful impact on patient outcomes, helping individuals regain independence as quickly and safely as possible. The service operates 365 days of the year, and whilst all reasonable flexible working requests will be considered, shift times are set at 16:00-midnight, in line with the opening hours of the service. An opportunity has arisen for a highly motivated and flexible individual to join the Patient Transport Service (PTS) management team. The position is in Greater Manchester (east 2) with the base being Whitefield station, on a full-time and permanent basis.
The successful candidate will work as part of a team of PTS Operational Managers with responsibility for the effective management of the staff in PTS operations, ensuring the provision of a first-class PTS.
Applicants should have developed knowledge of the NHS and local context, and hold a recognised management/leadership qualification or suitable relevant experience. Applicants should be able to evidence ongoing personal development and have excellent communication skills.
Main duties of the job

Accountable for the provision of transport services to patients travelling for non-urgent and non-emergency treatment within a specified area, ensuring all operational resources employed in the delivery of the service are clinically appropriate to patient needs, ensuring that standards of patient and staff safety are adhered to, and that quality and performance targets are met.
The PTS Operations Manager will ensure the development and maintenance of strong local collaborative working and stakeholder engagement with senior managers across organisational boundaries, and the effective management of the local reputation to ensure ongoing deliverability and sustainability of the service.
The PTS Operations Manager will be directly responsible for the effective management and visible leadership of Team Leaders, Ambulance Care Assistants and volunteers within the service delivery, responsible for ensuring delivery of a high quality, safe and efficient service to patients and stakeholders, ensuring operational risks are effectively managed.
The post holder will mainly work Monday to Friday 09:00-17:00hrs under NHS Agenda for Change guidelines. PTS operates seven days a week therefore occasionally the post holder may be required to work unsocial hours, including Bank Holidays. Flexibility is an essential requirement for the role.
