Job summary
The Inpatient Unit (IPU) at Arthur Rank Hospice Charity provides expert specialist palliative care at our Hospice in Cambridge. With capacity for up to 23 patients, we support people with both complex and non-complex palliative and end-of-life care needs.
We have an exciting opportunity to join our team as IPU Ward Manager. This is a full-time role, working 37.5 hours per week at our Hospice in Cambridge. The usual working hours are 9am to 5pm, Monday to Friday.

To succeed in this role, you will be an NMC-registered nurse with post-registration experience in specialist palliative care. Main duties of the job
We are seeking an individual who is approachable, empathetic, well organised, professional and able to work on their own initiative within their given remit. They must possess excellent communication skills to give a high level of service to our diverse cohort of patients. The successful candidate must demonstrate excellent computer skills, good time management plus be able to actively listen to both patients and colleagues.
Previous use of Microsoft Windows or SystmOne would be advantageous.
Previous experience working in General Practice or within the NHS is also desirable.

Main duties of the job
- Provision of specialist, high quality, expert nursing care and support for patients and their carers with a diagnosis of breast cancer being assessed, co-ordinated or cared for within Imperial and in liaison with the multidisciplinary team and other health agencies.
- To perform an effective key role within the MDT to deliver cancer waiting times targets and pathways communication.
- To act as a specialist resource for patients and the clinical team by providing comprehensive advice, information, teaching and training both within ICHT and externally.
- Update own clinical and specialist knowledge. Contribute in audit processes. Undertake, where appropriate, nursing research with published outcomes.
- Promote excellence in clinical practice, and the setting of quality standards within specialty.
- Formulate an annual report/clinical audit of own CNS service and outcomes.
- Active involvement in the development of the service locally and nationally.

It is essential that the post-holder should hold an MRCP (UK) or equivalent qualification, on the GMC specialist register and hold either a respiratory/GIM CCT (or be within 6 months of obtaining this at time of interview). The positions described in this job description are for fixed term locum physicians in respiratory medicine based at Northampton General Hospital. You will be expected to participate in ward cover 2 weeks in every 8-10. There are plans to develop a respiratory on call rota which will provide 7 day cover and telephone advice overnight, but this is not yet in place.
We are open to discussions about flexible and part time working. We are also open to discussions about different working options such that if the candidate wishes to include procedural sessions (bronchoscopy / EBUS / pleural) or other specialist interests we will consider modifying the job description as such.

Main duties of the job

To ensure good practice by regular audit and review of incidents with the clinical team and take forward lessons learnt.

An exciting opportunity has arisen for an experienced and highly motivated nurse to join our Breast Services team as aBreast Reconstruction Specialist Nurse.
This is a senior leadership role for an autonomous, advanced practitioner who will provide expert care and support for patients undergoing breast reconstruction following breast cancer surgery. You will work closely with the breast and plastic surgery teams to deliver a seamless, patient-centred service throughout the reconstructive pathway -- from diagnosis and surgical planning to long-term recovery and survivorship.
The post holder will act as the clinical lead for breast reconstruction nursing, driving forward high standards of care, service development, and patient experience in line with national best practice.
About You:
We are looking for an experienced senior nurse with substantial knowledge and clinical expertise in breast surgery, plastic/reconstructive surgery, or oncology. You will have advanced assessment and communication skills, with the ability to work autonomously while contributing to a dynamic MDT.
You should be able to demonstrate leadership, innovation, and a commitment to developing services in line with evolving patient needs.

We are looking to recruit an experienced haemodialysis nurse as Band 7 Unit Manager to lead the delivery of haemodialysis treatment to patients.
We are a 28 station hub unit and work closely with the 6 satellite dialysis units across the region, the renal ward at Preston and our Home Therapy Unit based at Chorley that make up our renal service.
The unit is open from 7am to 9pm Monday to Saturday and 9am to 5pm Sunday. We also have an on call service overnight for out of hours, emergency dialysis.
The post holder will lead an enthusiastic team of staff to ensure a high standard of care is provided to our dialysis patients and ensuring that the unit and services are utilised efficiently and effectively.
